Happy New Week

  • George - Good that your sister in law has now got to the recovery stage, and she is going to manage on her own. You sound such a big help, she must be very grateful. I hope she continues to improve, now its all over.
  • OG - As you say, your daughter has been stuck in a bit of a nightmare. I do hope that all comes right eventually.
  • AQ - hope you chilled out.

LMac - Oh dear, but she is adorable, how can one not forgive her.

Lindybird - Happy Anniversary from me too.

  • Margo -lovely to hear from you and keep your pecker up, you are doing amazingly well.  OH we know is supporting you and really does help when one has an ongoing illness.

Dibnib - in case I forget to mention it - Happy Anniversary to you both for the end of the month.

George - nice to hear from you. Glad your SiL has recovered from her op and is making steady progress. That is a good thing you are doing, helping to solve the shopping dilema by doing it online. I tend to do mine online maybe once or twice a month to give my dau. a break from taking me to a local supermarket. OH doesn't much care for the shopping lark so I try not to do much whilst out in the car when we go to the gym. I'm rambling again.

Off to the gym tomorrow, then to dry cleaners for OH to take his suit in ready for the forthcoming wedding we are attending - only a few weeks now, getting excited.   Off for a few days break to Norfolk on Sunday so hope our ospreys keep up the good work started!

  • We enjoyed our lunch out - we did a few errands, including going to B & Q to buy strong poles for my OH to use as upright supports for his bean row at the allotment. We called at a pub on the way home where its been advertised lately as having a new menu. There was certainly a lot of choice, with a comprehensive list plus some Daily Specials on a board. We plumped for Sweet & Sour Pork for my OH, and a Ciabatta with melted Brie & Bacon for me - both came with "Extra Chunky Chips" which were really yummy. Of course, after a nice cold glass of white wine I was very sleepy when we returned home to an excited puppy. My OH took her for a walk so that I could sit for a while! Just had a mug of soup tonight as we could eat no more.
  • Margo, thanks for reminding us all of Billies story. What a happier ending could there be than you all together at last, and Billie safely resting in your loving company every day. I'm so pleased to hear that you're feeling much better now, too.
  • Sounds yummy Lindybird, glad you enjoyed your day.

  • Hallo all:

Clare: Re the puppy stories, I'm relieved we have just one (ancient) cat.

Lindybird: Are hedghehogs prickly when they're young?

Margo: Any chance that medically prescribed marijuana might help the nausea?  Or don't they have that there? Here it's still a bit iffy, depending on which state you live in.   Oh, and no, no rain. The local authorities are bumping water restrictions up to the highest level now; not sure what that means at this point.  I remember you first posting sightings of Billie and how tentative it all was. Never heard of Fellway diffusers; had to Google it. Wonder if they make them for people?  :-)   Yes, still doing the whale count; we're having a rather long lull in between the "single" adult population and the Moms and calves, which are only just now beginning to trickle by.

George: Good that your SiL is doing better; she's very lucky to have you so close by and popping in to check on her - and help with the internet shopping, which hasn't really caught on here.

Lynette: Have fun - and nice weather - in Norfolk.

OG: Hope your daughter continues to rattle the insurance company's bars. Are they supposed to be on top of the no-show builder?

Warm here today - and noisy - it's trash, recycle and green barrel pick up day, so a variety of trucks rumbling up and down plus the accompanying chorus of Mow-and-Blow gardening crews and their blowers getting all the green barrels filled up before that truck arrives in mid-afternoon.  I'm sure they're losing customers what with the ever-diminishing number of lawns....

  • Yesterday I pottered in the garden for a short, very short, time. I found the vacuum but only manage half of the lounge room before I wandered off. I did check my overnight bag and get tea. But the rest of the day? I loitered, I lolled, I bludged. Today is OH’s regular nanny day, so maybe I’ll clean the oven, bake that cake, or something <grin>

  • AQ: I like the idea of something.....  :-)
