Happy New Week

  • Happy anniversary, Lindy!  I hope you both have a good day.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Oh, good, we're back again. We've had a beautiful day here as the clouds parted before lunch, so its been blue skies and sunshine, although not hot. Chance to wash some dog beds. Had to tidy up as we had the doors open, and Bonnie kept bringing things indoors - damp chewed small sticks, plant labels, and at one point, an entire plastic bowl of defunct hyacinth bulbs - the compost spread around the house alarmingly well!!

Thank you kindly, Clare - not a special one so we're going to celebrate low key. My OH enjoyed his golf and I've enjoyed pottering around, and colouring out my grey hairs!!

She has perfected the correct show ring stance, in the last photograph, Linda.

I thought it was a good pose when I snapped it, Brenda! She never stands still for long......
  • Dibnlib - sorry to hear about the painful arthritis. What a nuisance. Hope you can get some relief.
  • Brilliant Lindy I am glad you are suffering the ill effects of a spaniels strange thought process, was beginning to think it was just Tapaidh. I had my mum stay last week as OH was away. She got nothing done, Tapaidh ate the new plants I bought for my mum to plant, chewed every single stick and cone she could find. Ate the bird food and to top it all, I got home one night for my to tell me that Tapaidh dug a huge hole to bury her toys, however to my horror the little darling was a really digging up the remains of our previous cat!!!!! Last night she ate two socks and one of a pair of shoes so I had to bin them. I am exhausted...Glad I can come to work for a rest.  This is a new unpleasant phase that has taken her 7 months to get to!!

  • Jen has posted a new blog.

  • Lmac - Bonnie is not the only one, I'm sure!! Sounds horrendous at your house, though :-). This afternoon she tried to eat a tub of daffs on the patio, which is made of woven bamboo. Then tonight she pulled the tablecloth off the dining table, nearly breaking the salt & pepper. She has started trying to chew my OH's belt every time he cuddles her..... We keep all our shoes and slippers well out of the way!
  • Oh those puppy antics. Our first Goldie was an angel, though he did eat all the heads off our tulips and he could smell money in the post. I had to ask for a replacement cheque when I did the 81 census. I also had to painstakingly stick tog many pieces of M&S vouchers OHs sister had sent him for a gift and when a neighbour put a cheque through the door to pau his mess bill that had a chunk taken out of it.  Fingal would destroy anything leather he could get his paws on and Dillon was partial to skirting boards..... Benson we got at 7 months old so no damage done , but if he gets hold of a ball you have no chance of getting it off him.   The joys outway all their foibles and luckily we are able to look back and laugh and go through it all again!!!!!
