WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, APRIL 12, 2015

Happy New Week

  • Its certainly been tiring having a small puppy - you have to be on the ball the whole time as they are into everything, and there are broken nights, just the same as with a human baby. We think we're over the worst now, as she has slept through the night from 11.00pm until 6.15am without waking us for four nights, hooray! However, she is getting heavier by the day, and I can no longer lift her with one arm. She is also testing everything in sight with her set of tiny, sharp teeth......
  • Awful busy - loving the weather!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • It has disappeared as mysteriously as it came, just an ache from time to time but nothing like it was. Must have been sitting awkwardly and it hit a nerve, who knows, anyway its gone now.

Taken it easy today.  Must bake a cake in the morning to take with us and go and do a shop so I can take some food with us and also for Dau whilst she is on her own looking after the cats and birds and herself.

Its been a bit dull here and a little chillier but we can't have it all ways, it is still only April.

Oh Annette, how amusing and what an intelligent crow.

  • Lynette - good that your ache/pain is gone now. I know the feeling, you feel something unusual and you think "Oh, Oh, now what?" - is it the beginning of something you'll need the doc for, or is it just a pulled muscle or some such? I had a sore chest for a couple of days but its eased now - definitely muscular so I must have lifted the dog awkwardly or something (see reference in my post, above, as to how much weight she's putting on!). Must go now as already in bed & OH will get grumpy if I don't stop LOL! Night All.
  • Hallo all: Only two whales during the entire 8 hours today, both in my shift: one cow and calf who swam serenely on their way; lots of dolphins, four harbor seals lolling - oh and a old couch, which floated by in the same direction as the whales.  Hmmm.... Migrating couches or were they sending their furniture on ahead?

Lynette: Glad your ache disappeared as suddenly as it arrived.

Heather: Maybe Shank's Pony in France)?  :-)

Lindybird: Oh my, hope Bonnie continues to sleep through the night;and that she doesn't test too many items. I think our old cat is going to be "it" as far as pets go....

    Have a good Saturday all.

  • Good Morning. Don't know how it came to be that we were up so late last night - we were having a Friday tipple and watching things we had prerecorded, to catch up. A busy day today, must get things on the line, go shopping, gardening etc.......we're off to visit our Eldest and family tomorrow, which means cuddles with Amber - hooray!
  • Good morning all

    Another bright day,gardening planned.

LINDY - Enjoy your cuddles tomorrow!

ANNETTE- a floating sofa?! Must have caused a few chuckles...

LYNETTE- I'm so glad that you are feeling better.

MARGO- I meant to say, never heard of that gadget to help Billie. A very good idea, though. I must tell my bro, one of their cats is incredibly nervous, won't even go outside. They affectionately refer to him as Scaredy-Cat (when he is not listening lol )

  • Good morning.  Another blue-dome day.  Intending to visit Eskrigg Local Reserve in Lockerbie after Farmers' Market, then home for OH to finish the mowing he started yesterday.

But just had to tell you what I just saw from the kitchen window: Mr and Mrs Robin were here and making the most of Spring together - he was feeding her little bits of food to get her in the mood - aaaahhh!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Good Morning everyone, its a been a little while, but i'm in the process of catching up. Today following my shopping, I will venture to the gsrden centre, then attempt to sort out the garden as we are removing the decking, so need to dig out some plants and place in to pots. I worry that men coming in wont think about where they place there feet (we have a small garden) we are trying to make the garden appear larger than it really is.

I need to visit the Apple store, I changed my phone last weekend, so far unable to download contacts, so I had to do it manually, irritating to say the least, but I'm still unable to transfer my iTunes across, oh to be a wiz with IT.

Question though this morning a male blackbird was spotted taking cat biscuits from the bowl (we have a feral cat that pops in now and again) is this normal for birds, he ate about 5/6 biscuits. My OH did say he's seen them take the biscuits before.

A delight this morning when the post arrived, Natures home magazine with a photo of an Osprey on the front cover, its was covering abernethy and the beautiful EJ and Odin mentioned, I shall sit and read later.

    Have a lovely day everyone.

  • Good Morning Everyone.Sunny again but the wind feels rather cold.

Lynette, Good to hear that your leg now feels normal.

Annette, Migrating couches LOL. I am sure Linda could think of an appropriate ditty.

Heather, I think you may be paying for a hire car for your brother, if you all want to go out in France.

Linda, Don't work too hard today, tomorrow could be tiring, but rewarded with cuddles. Hope you have an easy drive.

OG, How lovely to see. Our friendly robin has disappeared. We presume his partner prefers a nest away from our garden. We seem to have an invasion of green finch this morning, who are all fighting one another to get at the feeders.
