DAILY UPDATE - Saturday, 11 April 2015

What a lovely day for EJ and Odin yesterday was :o  Apart from a couple of nuisance intruders (EJ was more concerned than Odin, but he did join in the protests a little), they were both left in peace to nestorise and go thru the procreation process - many times!

We thought that no fish had been brought to the nest and I was concerned because I couldn't find EJ having been absent for long enough to eat a fish, let alone fish for one.  Late last night I managed to find this:

FISH @ 1910hr !!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm wondering if I should start over again, in case there's an early-morning one I've missed.

  • Our beautiful EJ is looking very chilled out and contented on the nest.  What a lovely sight.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning everybody :-D.  Thank you for all the overnight information and pics, Scylla - all very, very much appreciated.  Like CC said, you can't possibly take any blame if, by any chance, you may have missed a fish delivery yesterday morning ............ flipping heck, you're human, dear lady - and far more diligent about things than I can be .

It's great to see the expectant parents working so hard on getting the nursery ready - do we now think that they've done some work on 'that hole'?

I've got grandkids this afternoon and for an 'overnighter' - one set of parents are going off to The Grand National and the other set just for a night out.  I've no interest at all in the GN - other than wish it didn't happen at all; but I suppose it's a case of 'each to their own'.

I'll keep watching for as long as I can - hope everybody has a good day with as much Osprey-watching as we can all manage.

  • No wonder EJ is looking so content with life!!

  • Judging by his 'activity and attentions towards EJ' this year, I'm guessing that Odin is, perhaps 'an Osprey in his Prime' ;).

Wonder how many eggs we'll get .............he appears to 'going for the record' :-).

  • Maybe spotting XD around 9 am yesterday has something to do with his   showing EJ what a man he is !!

  • Thank you so much for all the captures . I really glad to see Odin 'on the job'. With EJ so willing

  • You could be right there, Cirrus....and here he goes again:
