Geoff Ellis, head of T in the Park, has complained that ospreys nesting on the music festival site have cost the event organisers £1 million.
The DF Concerts director said “onerous” planning rules had contributed to the company’s profits dropping by almost half last year, as it moved to a new site at Strathallan Castle in Perthshire.
Despite an overall rise in turnover, the pre-tax profits of the company fell from £6.24 million to £3.6 million.
Mr Ellis pinned much of the blame on the birds of prey, which required constant attention and special measures during the festival.
He said:…"
oooooOooooo
Oh dear, what a shame, never mind!
Morning MIKE Words fail me
Did he continue???? with we will be moving this years event????
My heart bleeds for him - NOT! As someone living in Scotland he should be aware of the right to roam - and that applies to ospreys even more than humans. This sort of 'money rules over everything' makes me so cross. I can imagine many 'Times' readers would agree that wildlife has more rights than humans - most of the people who attend these festivals wouldn't want it in their back yard ... why try to inflict it on the ospreys' back yard?!?!?

Patily, words have not failed the posters on Facebook that's for sure! LoL
I can imagine Good for them
So pleased to read about the drop in profits. Let's hope it's even worse for profits next year and he clears off back to where he came. Which is where ?
A far cry from June 1 when T In The park Chief welcomed home the ospreys.
MR ELLIS WELCOMES OSPREYS
Now his profit is down and the ospreys allegedly cost him £1M a different story
OSPREYS COST £1M
Living only 10 miles away from Strathallan I would welcome that Mr Ellis takes his concert elsewhere and would be surprised with the three concert related deaths this year that he should be allowed another entertainments licence from P & K. Maybe then Mr and Mrs Roberts can restore their residence back to how it was two years ago.
Once again as with the badger cull wildlife gets blamed for human failings. It's time these people admitted their errors and left wildlife alone.
I must say I'm speechless.... Quite clearly this music festival is not at the right site. Am in agreement with Alan P. Why does wildlife always get the short straw?
