A Google search revealed this so I have started a new thread has been suggested.
Birdies LG DU update.
I find it astonishing, and extremely sad, that the decision was unanimous.
I really don't hold out much hope for either of the nests at Strathallan. There may be a valiant few who are going to monitor the situation, but given the frenzy this has now stirred in the supporters, I can see a situation, booze fueled, where folk will pay no heed to the conditions laid down in the approval. And who is to say that mysteriously over the winter months the nest trees aren't, ooh, found on the ground? I truly despair for our wildlife if those that are supposed to protect it fail to do so.

Can't quite believe what I am reading Karen. I would like to say something but I would only have the thread closed for bad language so I wont bother.
Lmac, I'm speechless - it's unbelievable!
The animal/wildlife welfare bodies simply didn't do enough quick enough. Their initial silence acted as approval
Have we got some right of reply to this utter moron Tom Gray

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Fortunately for the ospreys the people with trout farms have found they can make money by putting up photo hides. I suspect most recreational anglers would find the sight of any osprey would more than compensate for having a few fewer fish to catch. The model osprey mentioned may have been intended to attract the birds.

Given that most have to put the fish back now his comments are tripe.
