WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey topics) SUNDAY, APRIL 4, 2015

Hallo all!  Hope you all have a peaceful and pleasant Easter.

Clare: I forgot where you live but it must be a fair-sized city to support five agencies.  Do they overlap with each other when it comes to job vacancies? Any chance of getting a temp job (sometimes they can go permanent)?  Anyway, hang in there ducky.  :-)

The town I live in isn't big but it has the biggest container port in the country - and Ipswich is nearby, which is a very big town with lots of agencies.  They frequently seem to offer the same vacancies as each other.  I'm not considering temping as temps are all too frequently looked down on here.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning, All. A bit grey & windy here, but change was forecast. We have lots to do (who filled that ironing basket?!) but are hoping to take Bonnie for a stroll at some point. Clare - you're up early!
  • Helen is spending a day at her riding school - she's working this morning and competing this afternoon.  She and Limpy aren't exactly natural early risers......someone has to get them moving!

  • Limpy is now in our front room - with a cockatiel on his shoulder and two more on his lap.  Pure contentment!

  • Good morning all ave been missing in action due to incredible weather we have having and also it up is chemo week And suffering from the usual stomach problems. Billie and I have been sitting out together in the garden. She likes to be out in the sun but prefers me to be out there with her as any sound makes her jump, like people talking, sudden gusts of wind etc. she is still a very nervous cat. Chemo started Tuesday as they don't give treatment on Bank Holidays and this meant they were over booked so there waits of up to an hour for my treatment.. They explained that they wished they could give treatment on Bank Holidays but cannot do so because the chemo pharmacy is shut. Seems a bit crazy but that is how it works. The same thing will happen next month as we have another Bank Holiday Monday. The worst thing was not being told there would be a long wait and barring in Monod my blood pressure is always taken, it was no surprise it was a bit high. All in all not a good week and missing out on the osprey action as well. Just have a quick look in now and then and so pleased that almost all our Ospreys arrived back safely. Tried taking the iPad out in the garden but not able o watch as it is so bright and too many reflections. We had rain overnight and first thing but it now bright and sunny so Billie will want to be out soon. At the moment she has settled down in a shaft of sunlight in the front room so hoping to finish this and get it posted before she wakes up.

A few mentions I am not mentioning everyone but as usual I am way behind.

Annette thanks for the photos you posted and also AQ for the pics from your recent trip.

Clare sorry you are finding it difficult to find employment. Hooe something will turn up soon.

diane sorry you have had some extreme weather to deal with and hoping you will get some work soon. Must be very difficult for you losing a source of income.

Heather pleased you enjoyed your meet with OG and EE and had a good chat.

Lindybird I will certainly view my wrinkles in a different way. That was a wonderfully thought out poem.

For all those I have not mentioned I hope you are keeping well and enjoying all things osprey.

have a good weekend and take care.

  • Hello all!  Bband at B&B isn't working, but have an excellent connection at Daughter's.  J is fine, and now back to eating normally after a couple of very careful days.  EE and I met up with Heather and her OH for a good catch up yesterday, as I think she has mentioned above (haven't read all posts in detail).  It was lovely to see them again.

MARGO - sorry you seem to be getting the tummy problem with chemo every time now.  You are right about the nuisance of Bank Hol weekends - I remember when J had his radiotherapy he was to have six weeks but it included Easter, May Day and finally Spring Bank Hols, so it went into an eighth week!

Dau#2 here has only been back in the house 3 weeks, so EE is helping her partner with various jobs - currently refitting the bathroom door which always did have problems since she and her ex originally moved in!

Weather is still brilliant (after overnight rain) but forecast is less good - possibly with some snow at higher levels tonight (there is already snow remaining atop the Ben).

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Been catching up. We have both been under the weather for a good few days. Didn't think it worth going to GP as OH was just told it was a virus and would run its course. Gave up and got an appt yesterday and I have an infection and needed antibiotics. Added to which I woke 12 days ago with a severly sore right wrist. Went to A&E who x-rayed it (no break) but I have been wearing a splint since and go to the fracture clinic on Monday.

CLARE you must be getting really hacked off. There is probably an amazing job out there for you, hope it comes sooner than later.

  • CLARE    Didn't realise anyone worksin suits anymore.

CLARE/DIANE   Sometimes who have to tell a few white lies. Years ago I went for an interview with the civil servive. OH was in the RAF and our address left no doubt that we were military and would be moving on. The inevitable question came and I told them OH loved his job as an area radar training instructor and would almost certainly be asking for an extension. I got the job and we moved to Lossie a year later.

LINDY I so agree about trying to find a shop assistant. I have wandered round for ages tring to get help, and as for self service check outs, another nightmare. My boss wrote to his local store suggesting that if he was going to serve hiself at the check out he expected a discount. Needless to say he got no reply.

OG  Sorry  not to see you. Hope you are having a good  time.

  • Did anyone see the story of the Goldie who went for a paddle, got caught in the tide and swept 1/2 mile out to sea. Hurrah for the lifeboat crew who went to the rescue.

  • See Dunblane is going nuts over Andy and Kims wedding today. Great they are getting married there and all credit to Kim for not getting married down south. No celebities will be there and they have refused to do a magazine deal. I know they do not need the money but so many wealthy people do sign up for these deals. Wishing them all the very best.
