Lots of interesting posts on the previous threads. Thanks folks. EJ on nest/eggs right now. Doesn't look too windy. Marge on her eggs too.
Odin suddenly started making sharp peeping noises, and looking as if he could see something....
eventually, he got up from the egg, and flapped his wings as if to deter intruders.. shouting. Then he calmed down as if the threat was past, and settled on the egg.
Morning all:
Welcome Pamela!
Emma: "Prized stick"and all subsequent references to Odin's housekeeping activities made me smile. He really is into it, isn't he? Constantly sorting twigs and moss and rearranging everything. When I was watching last night he seemed just a little reluctant to relinquish the egg to EJ, who pecked him lightly on his back - but maybe that was just a little osprey hug.
Margobird: Enjoy your OH-free weekend. Heron: Good to see you again.
Back later.
Margobird: Re LOTL, I tend to watch Marge at night too - a carryover from last year. I visited the "News from other nests" thread and found they included nests from all over the place, which I can't keep up with. So I'm not bothered by mentions of LOTL on this thread and assume/hope that's okay with the others.
Another mating! Here they are together, just before then:
Now EJ is settling back on theegg.
Hi Annette: Not bothered by references to Marge - although I like to hear about it, I just can't keep up with any more webcams, though.
EJ returns, no fish left for Odin. Hope he is feeding himself when he goes fishing, which I have read, is what they sometime do, but I thought he was looking for some fish from EJ. They mate and Odin leaves.
Just checked the stills cam (which had stopped earlier) and came across this image:
Careful with that egg!
Well caught, Sandy!
Hi Sandy. I was watching at that time and thought it was rather a risky exercise !

Evening Sandy Odin doesn't know when to stop. Bit risky with that egg in close proximity.
