Brilliant news. I knew it the minute I went to the live cam and saw EJ sitting. Hurray. A BIG THANK you to all posts, especially all the clever folks who linked to videos for those of us who missed it. Lovely. EJ is inspecting the egg right now - and has just settled down on it again. Have to pop out; then cook dinner and still haven't had a shower; back later.
Lindybird still suprises me that mating is still going on. Odin thinking now she has one egg I had better up the anti and make sure she lays another two (hopefully).
Margobird
They must have to keep at it, Margobird! I have to go out now, happy watching.
Hi Margo, just noticed your weather forecast. It must be so cold on that nest during the night, but she did survive the snow last April and all the eggs hatched. I remember a part in Roy's book where he comments that he has often gone to bed, listening to the roaring wind and the rain lashing down, thinking of the poor female birds sitting on nests trying to protect their eggs.
Just switched to camera to see Odin moving a large branch around the nest, after many attempts to find a suitable place and resting it on EJ, he leaves the nest, only to rapidly return to mate. He has left and EJ is left to sort out the nest. I couldn't see the egg untill she had removed small branches and that straw.
Odin returns to nest, moves that branch once again, EJ jumps off eggs and leaves. Odin settles on egg as EJ returns. Both enjoying the sunshine, as the wind doesn't seem quite so wild.
EDIT: Odin leaves, returns for an attempt to mate, but slides off EJ's back. EJ all alone now.
Good afternoon all. I've been offline since Wednesday so have missed all the eggcitement! Just wanted to add my congrats to the happy couple, let's hope there are at least another two eggs. It appears to be blowing a gale at LG and EJ has to make sure she's sat facing the wind as she takes her turn on the egg.
Evening all
Been working all day today Well done Madge. - 2am, - I wonder if she struggled, cos it looked imminent last night about 8 pm. Just got in and caught up here. So we've had fish and Odins been incubating and we have Lots and lots of grass and moss around cup/ Wonder if they've heard the weather forecast for next week. Sleet and winds up that way apparently. Anyway all looking good just now thanks for posts and 'photies' Off to get changed and to see what I can make for dinner.

All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. Spike Milligan
Golly EJ nearly got blown away by her rump just then. What endurance these birds have.
Delivery of smallish fish ... 18.15 ... EJ took it and flew off to eat ... Odin sorts the nest cup and settles in to brood
