Brilliant news. I knew it the minute I went to the live cam and saw EJ sitting. Hurray. A BIG THANK you to all posts, especially all the clever folks who linked to videos for those of us who missed it. Lovely. EJ is inspecting the egg right now - and has just settled down on it again. Have to pop out; then cook dinner and still haven't had a shower; back later.
At least Odin is holding the fort and EJ can go fishing.

Another pic of them together in this wild wind: Odin still on the egg, EJ just preening a bit.
A very clear picture indeed, LIndybird
Although it looks bright and sunny, its the worst wind I've heard there for a long time. It must be cold.

As I said yesterday OH going away early tomorrow and won't be back until late Monday so lots of time to watch and wait with her. It is so windy up there today EJ's "hair" being blown all over the place. Alicat may I add by best wiishes to you for Mondy we will all be thinking of you .

OK, so Odin eats the very small fish he brought recently - to be expected since he had only had the head of the first fish (a little larger) which EJ finished off (I believe Brenda. ? ) So now, d'you reckon EJ not only wants the egg back (as well as that !!! ?) but now wants to eat again.
Odin was battered by the wind, and got very annoyed with a small straw which kept rubbing his flank. He tried to push it away several times without rising from the egg. EJ stood over Odin, chirping louder and louder and louder, I thought it was to get him off the egg: in the end, he did give in, but only to jump off the nest and turn to mate once again before going! She is now settling down again. Here he is trying to move the straw:
Lindybird just looked at the weather and if says between 10 and 15 degrees daytime, but there is going to be some fairly cold nights with minus temperatures.
Its a shame, Margobird, but I'm sure they will cope as they must have had nights like that last year. Glad youre able to enjoy this: you will not miss your OH when he is away at the weekend, if you have this entertainment!
You are right Lindybird look at what EJ had to withstand a couple of weeks ago, and of course Odin still trying to get there. I won't feel so guilty about spending a long time looking, always a bit economical with the truth when he asks "how long have you been looking at webcams". He just worries about my eyes because of the problems I have with them. Will miss him but will enjoy freedom to do what I want, eat what I want and stop in bed a bit longer in the morning. He is always up at 6.00 to get ready for work so I am awake too.
