Daily Update (LG Nest) Friday, April 16 :-)))

Brilliant news. I knew it the minute I went to the live cam and saw EJ sitting.  Hurray. A BIG THANK you to all posts, especially all the clever folks who linked to videos for those of us who missed it.  Lovely.   EJ  is inspecting the egg right now - and has just settled down on it again.  Have to pop out; then cook dinner and still haven't had a shower; back later.

  • Mmm. intruders on all quarters   11.04 and Odin defending whilst incubating. Buzzard in distance (not the intruder Odin was defending against)

    Thanks Auntie

It took some council guys demolishing a bus stop to wake me Alicat  :)

  • Ah 11.22 and EJ returns without any remains of fish. Well, it wasn't very large. Hopefully Odin has gone fishing for himself now then. EJ about to settle on eggs.

The question of the day is will  Odin bring breakfast so he  can have a turn sitting on the egg? He loved sitting on the eggs last year.

Someone let me know if  Odin starts bringing  fish to  EJ so he can sit on the eggs

I am going to bed I feel awful

Barbara Jean sorry you are not feeling well.  Sinus infactions are so painful.  As you say though you will be able to see all the egg laying hopefully.   Take care and look after yourself.

  • Cirrus, I thought EJ did bring back some of the fish and it is towards the back and left of the screen

  • Oh,I'm so sorry Barbara Jean. I'll do my best to keep any fish reports coming and I know many others will do the same. It's amazing how one can decide to make  a cup of coffee or dry one's hair (as I shall have to do shortly!)  just as a moment of import unveils on the nest.

Oh, Brenda, I don't see it -it may be there. But as Odin only had the head of a smallish fish I would have thought he would have taken it with him when he left. I really didn't see anything in EJ's talon but the sun, of course, does make it difficult to make everything out. It does for me anyway. If there is some left we must watch for EJ eating it later.

  • Good morning all just caught up with nearly 400 emails.  Logged in and did my usual thing earlier and went straight to the LG webcam.  Could tell immediately that things had changed and there was our dear EJ brooding her first egg.  Thanks to everyone for news, pics and videos, especially the one of the happy event.  I sat shouting congratulations EJ and Odin and I loved it when EJ was laying the egg and Odin came in with another stick and proceeded to tidy yp the home.  Pleased there has been a fish too.  Wanted to celebrate but its a bit too early to have a glass of wine, will toast the happy couple tonight.  Sounds very windy at LG today but EJ sitting quietly and surveying her surroundings.

Have a good osprey watching day all, it is too cold here to do anything in the garden will probably be glued to the screen all day.

  • EJ looks so peaceful, brooding and snoozing in the sunshine - even though it sounds very windy at LG
