Hallo all:
Soosin posted the following about her Saturday and various bird sightings, etc., at the very end of the last Daily Update, so I'm copying it here otherwise no-one will see them (she saw mating kingfishers!). And Alan posted some new links, which are also here (Hope that was okay Soosin and Alan).
From Soosin: Just in from a day in Galloway visiting rellies. What weather, fantastic, Saw mating kingfishers at Cumstoun Bridge, Kirkcudbright. and an Osprey on tje nest at Threave Castle our first house martins of the year and possible first swallow but in car and couldn't be sure. Spring definitely here. whooopeee Great to catch up with all your obs and pics from throughout day. So, they still seem to be sharing, aahh, how nice. Empty nest looking well padded with moss with the night vision on it. Someone mentioned a new blog. off to read that now. Be out all day again tomorrow. on the hill hoping for Ring Ousel
From Alan: Nesting calendars for Owls and Hawks, International falcons and US falcons have been updated. http://peregrinefalcon-bcaw.net/viewforum.php?f=6

I heard at lunchtime that my French visitors got the Eurotunnel Shuttle (for cars) before the one they had booked last night, to return to France. The dust in Surrey is visible on cars as has been said above, the sky is dark now, but the sunset was odd with the sun very bright in a cloudless sky, but very diffuse with a radiant glow, very large emanating all around the yellow in the centre, then white, with the glow a bright pale grey shade merging into the blue sky above.
Another branch of my French connections, have two boys of 12 and 13, who should have flown on a school trip from Lyon, but are now en route by coach trip to Caen, ferry to Portsmouth and the coach to somewhere in Lancashire, north of Liverpool.
Also, in the gathering dusk, with the warmer weather, two bats briefly flitted past the windows, in the back garden, only for less than one minute, then they were off. Presumably the warm weather has ended their hibernation and they had come out to see what was going on.

Not looking good at all, can see panic buying starting shortly with the lack of fresh fruit and veg coming into the country. It was mentioned on tne news and that will mean a lot of people will be panic buying tomorrow.
Having another attempt at uploading a picture which website said was too big - cropped it a little, and made hardly any difference - took off a bit more round the edges, and it's file size is much smaller! So here goes:
Loch Katrine, Trossachs, Sunday 11th April
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Well, that seems to have worked, wish I knew how it changed size so suddenly! Still need to investigate this picture file size business. Will play with a few more soon.
Sowed loads more seeds today and started the ironing - and I even got started on the magazine! Quite pleased with myself, but rather tired. And so, to bed ... zzzzzz

OG/LINDYBIRD with our last camera which was a nikon we did not have to load any software. OH is going to ask at jessops when we are next in town. Great news that we know have 2 eggs. We are thrilled to bits with the rockery, red paving and lock-block. Passed a neighbour on pm dog walk who said it was the best he had seen, so must pass that on to the landscapers.
