Hallo all:
Soosin posted the following about her Saturday and various bird sightings, etc., at the very end of the last Daily Update, so I'm copying it here otherwise no-one will see them (she saw mating kingfishers!). And Alan posted some new links, which are also here (Hope that was okay Soosin and Alan).
From Soosin: Just in from a day in Galloway visiting rellies. What weather, fantastic, Saw mating kingfishers at Cumstoun Bridge, Kirkcudbright. and an Osprey on tje nest at Threave Castle our first house martins of the year and possible first swallow but in car and couldn't be sure. Spring definitely here. whooopeee Great to catch up with all your obs and pics from throughout day. So, they still seem to be sharing, aahh, how nice. Empty nest looking well padded with moss with the night vision on it. Someone mentioned a new blog. off to read that now. Be out all day again tomorrow. on the hill hoping for Ring Ousel
From Alan: Nesting calendars for Owls and Hawks, International falcons and US falcons have been updated. http://peregrinefalcon-bcaw.net/viewforum.php?f=6

jsb: Thanks for the link to to Capercaille call - was it you who said it wasn't one you could whistle to? Right!
Thank you Alan. I had seen the picture in the paper, whilst out at lunch time, and had recognised OVS's ring. I come home and find the mystery has been solved. Think the Daily Mail will be getting a complaint from me.
Trucker Steve is rolling north through some lovely country today. http://www.bigrigtruckcam.com/ Scroll down to see the live pic. Off to read posts.
Morning all: Re OVS photo, my Mom used to say: Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see. As a former editor, I'd add "and whatever you read" to that last bit.
Tiger: Thanks for the chart!
Lindybird: I guess I have a card table too; going to clear off the stereo stuff in the next day or so and keep cracking on my jigsaw. I remember the Coronation: we had a street party and I fell over and went home wailing with bloodied knees. Should've stayed home and done a jigsaw. :-) I'm total rubbish at Scrabble.

ANNETTE the jigsaw I am going to start is named hocus pocus and is of a cartoon witch in a kitchen with all witchy things and she is tossing a pancake shaped like a skull. Still trying to post the new images of Dillon. Think it may be something to do with how we have saved them/the new camera. think it is the same camera as OG has got so don't think there should be trouble there. I see she has visited LG and taken them cake so when we go to LG I must not let the side down and must take goodies for the staff.

LINDYBIRD am I right that Mark Nyman used to be a regular lexicographer in dictionary corner on Countdown. Really enjoy Scrabble and win much more often than I lose, hence OH is reluctant to play. Don't think much of the new rules. do you? would be interested to know Marks views.
LINDYBIRD hope you like these 2 little angels
Aaah dibnlib, they're really cute and cuddly.
