Morning/evening all: A ways to go before dawn at LG, but nest is brightly lit again
Alan On the other hand ( 3+8 = 11)
Tiger was worried that the eggs were laid after only 8 days and asked whether some off camera matings had taken place prior to 11 April.
It is highly unlikely that any matings took place prior to OVS’ arrival. Eight days is not out of the ordinary from first mating to the laying of eggs, a lot depends upon the frequency of mating and the condition of the female.
EJ had been back almost a fortnight, had fed herself well and had fully recovered from her migration before the initial matings started so I have no worries about the timings. Infact several other nests which we observe had similar timings this year

Thanks Auntie. He is not sharing at the moment then. EJ still calling. Guess she can see him eating it.
Thanks Tiger. We will have to wait and see.
Oh dear, Odin returns just to mate. No fish.
TIGER, interesting isn't it. You never can tell. . Oh Odin just landed with moss. EJ was back just over a week before Odin. But then I think it was Sunday4th before there was real attempts at mating. Ej had a few days of snow and wind to contend with before he arrived. Whilst she looked amazing I wonder if she was back to full strength after her migration. Who knows though, we're forever suprised with goings on on this nest Mating again
All I ask is the chance to prove that money can't make me happy. Spike Milligan
Odin returns with just a red bouquet again. Mates yet again and exits.
EJ sitting quietly on the nest looking skyward but relaxed. Still quite stong gusts of wind rocking her occassionally.
Morning all: Oh dear. Sorry for the screw up with date - that's what comes of peering in the half-dark at the tiny clock at the bottom of the computer screen. Thanks Tiger and - sorry, I forget, someone else - for catching that.
Seems not much has changed so far, except that fish sharing observed, which is nice. I'm out most of the day so wil check back later. Pages took a while to load this morning....
Not much to report, as have been in and out of the room for the last hour, myself, and the nest has been empty every time. Can still hear wind gusting quite loudly in the background.
Many thanks to Cirrus for lovely picture of EJ & Odin "Sharing a Moment" just after 10.30 this morning - what a nice sight! They make such a great pair that I wonder if this year is also successful, maybe they will be together for many years to come (? what do you think ?)
