Not sure how much I'll see tonight, given computer problems. Can't see any wind action at LG - don't know if it's calm or of the image is frozen!
Unknown said: I wouldn't worry Tish. She is more comfortable if she is sitting in the tree, or they have just gone fishing, although I do understand what you mean about the extra noise at LG this year, even though it is a distance from the nest, I am sure it is still quite audible to EJ and Odin.

Everything in life is speaking in spite of its apparent silence.
Maybe if we had the sound on the camera we could tell how much noise there is.
I still think it has been a long time to leave the nest unprotected. Maybe Richard or David if he has time might throw some light on things......................

They were taken with my phone, a couple through the viewing telescope things so they aren't the best quality but they might be of interest to someone. http://s931.photobucket.com/albums/ad160/lochgarten2010/4th%20April/

Hi Stan! Do you mind if I "show" those pics in Finnish site? There are some keen LG fans. Won`t post them if you don`t like that idea, will totally understand so absolutely no pressure, seriously :)
Yes no problem, show away! I'm just glad some people liked seeing them.
Stan - thanks for the photos ... excellent to be able to see something of LG ... I've never visited, so just follow through the webcam

Have very much enjoyed the pics, Stan: thanks. Nice for us who have not had a chance to get up to LG, to see the Centre as well as lovely to see EJ resplendent on the nest.
I think EJ is not far away, its just that this very cold wind is making it impracticable/uncomfortable to sit on the nest for too long.
Lindybird - I think you are probably right about EJ being close by out of view! I was out all morning and was a bit concerned when I read the comments about the nest being unattended for so long ... I can't imagine her deserting after being here for so many seasons ... lets hope she is somewhere nearby.

Your are probably right like Djoan says it is just the not knowing or hearing!!!!!!
Hi everyone.Going by the posts since I last checked my emails this morning, the nest has been empty for a fair while. Really hope Odin and EJ return soon with the following result: Ospreys 2 Fish 0. I mean don't get me wrong I love fish but I'm not sure I could eat as much as our osprey friends.Several million thanks to everyone for all the updates, screen captures photos etc. All brilliantly informative and helpful.Bit of a funny story regarding EJ and Odin. This morning I was having a look at the LG video, when suddenly I see both of them on the nest. Brilliant! I think, hoping they'll both stay around long enough for me to be able to take some mental notes for clear ID purposes (other than just tagged versus not tagged). My dad then takes a look up from his breakfast and notices the pair, and asks: "So who's EJ, and who's Odin?" I then start to go into a talk about being able to tell them apart if I could see both their talons, as EJ is tagged and Odin isn't. My osprey ID skills are still at beginner level. Anyway, Odin then proceeds to give a perfectly timed X-rated demonstration of just who is who. Odin, EJ, thanks, you saved me answering lots of questions. LOL.
Paul.
Warning! This post contains atrocious spelling, and terrible grammar. Approach with extreme edginess.
afternnon all. Thanks for all the reports and pictures.
Great to catch up on the news/action
Like others have said, I imagine EJ/Odin are somewhere more comfortable than on the nest, at the moment. I'm sure last year, it was said it was much easier/natural for them to perch on a branch than stand on the nest.
Paul, glad Odin helped you out on the identification!! Had a chuckle at your story:)
