Loch Garten Cam Observations until the arrival of EJ - 2015

I've started a new thread to say that the night cam is on, at 18:42!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • (This is my second try - suddenly today I cannot post in Firefox.)

Good morning all you who shall be nameless in case I miss anyone.

This is now, I'm also going to see what's there from overnight, like pretty colours at dawn ;-)

Glad to know the cam is alive and kicking.  Thanks Clare for the thought of a pre-arrival thread.

A pre-arrival thread has been running for a few years now.  I'd just got a capture of the nest when the night cam came on and needed somewhere to post it.

Good morning. It is the International Day of happiness and I certainly feel very happy.

Apparently happiness comes from connections with other people. Well I think we can all agree with that. In our case connections created by special birds called Odin and EJ

All I have to do is look at that huge nest to feel very happy indeed!

  • There's an interesting light effect over the nest:

  • But no buffering overnight :-)

    Pre-daycam:

And throughout it all (or is it just me?)

    .

Finally, please could someone with a bit of clout... or a bit of nerve (that'll be MIKE!) ask Richard, as a last favour, to go up on the nest and wave his arms around to test for movement-blurring? ;-)

  • Do any of us have clout?  I know there's plenty of nerve on here!

  • Hooray then!  colour is a little , something. Is it me or is the pic ''grainy'' . Anything I can do to improve the colour? I'm sure my resolution or something must be off.

It is quite grainy, CIRRUS, and I've theorised that they have heeded the request I beamed at them constantly last season - lower the resolution so that the broadband can handle it.  If only someone would do the arm-waving thing we'd soon find out.  KEITH is a traveller and often goes that way - KEITH?!!!

As for the colour - could you post a screenshot?  Not that I'd know what to do about it but maybe someone can help.

  • Just thought - you can never find an intruder when you need one >:(
