Egads! We have to put the clocks forward tonight! Seems like we just put them back 10 minutes ago. :-(
Good evening. Enjoyed Gardening Group, was about Signs of Spring – covering flora and fauna.
Rita – glad you saw some sunshine today – it was glorious here, all day, but quite cool this evening, down to two degrees as we drove home. Lovely Crocus blooms in the photo.
Clare – when I was growing up, Pheasants were quite common in the garden, especially in winter. I think they came for the chickens’ food!
Brenda – not quite short sleeve weather here, but definitely no coat needed! EE did have time to hoe one of the veg patches over and put the cold frame out to warm up some soil – usually done at the beginning of the month, but has been too wet before. I normally aim to plant lettuce under glass in mid-March.
Dibnlib – glad Benson enjoyed his walk and playtime!
Linda – good photo of your two Grandsons.
J is having his car MoTed tomorrow, OH will be cleaning and I shall be baking. If the expected rain clears before evening, we shall go to Bird Club.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Just lost a post as it wouldn't go. Oh well.
Well done Annette for spotting 19 out of the 53 whales. Its an amazing amount, must be a healthy gathering of the "clans"
Lindy - glad the weather has improved. Lovely pic of your grandsons.
Yes, it was an aweful thing to happen re the setter being poisioned. They think more may have been but its a case of being able to prove it?
Managed usual swim. Lovely day here but I see that the weather is about to change with gales and rain coming in from the West, hitting Scotland again and further on down the West side of the country.
Will post todays pics on next one - some by Africam and the ospreys and bald eagle all coming up

she looks very bedraggled as it looks like its been raining there.
does this remind you of our two ospreys - not long now
Dibnlib, Your walk with Benson really sounds most enjoyable.
Rita, Sorry you didn't share our weather, but so glad you had time to take such a beautiful photograph in some sunshine.
OG, Our tête à tête have all opened today, in the sunshine, and the crocus have opened fully. I really feel that Spring is arriving now. Our temperature at the moment is down to 3.1c.
Linda, The builders haven't started work yet. He is only planning !!! Lovely photograph of your grandchildren.
Lynette, What a lovely selection of camera captures. Great that you managed your swim again. You must be pleased with yourself.
My OH just sent me the attached link titled Birds That Bring Gifts and Do the Gardening: www.bbc.com/.../magazine-31795681
Lovely pix Lynette; thank you.
Busy today, laundry on the go and packing started. Was working in the garden right before dinner and was being so careful to avoid an irrigation tube that I managed to smack right through the main water line (plastic) with my spade. Gurgle, gurgle. Wonderful.
Just checked in with the LoTL cam and the noise - at 2:45 local time for you - was amazing. So much wildlife noise!
Good morning all
4 degrees here and what OH would call an uncertain sky. Its the last day that Alfie will be here, he has just some gloss painting and last coat of emulsion in the back room to do and he says that he will be finished by lunchtime.
Yesterday was our wedding anniversary so we went for lunch to DIBNLIB's favourite restaurant, Rocpool by the river. I threw a bacon roll at Alfie first and we left him in charge of the house. Our lunch was lovely. Neither of us has huge appetites so we settled for two starters each. I had scallops followed by belly pork with black pudding, apple puree and wilted spinach with a whole grain mustard dressing. Then a Pavlova with ?champagne rhubarb (it was slender and very pink) and chopped pistachio nuts. OH had Cullen skink and the pork. If that was the size of the starter portions I dread to think what a main course would look like!
ANNETTE I was thrilled to read about your whale count. It must have been so exciting to experience. You don't sound TOO sad about bursting to water pipe lol :-)
RITA The crocus picture was lovely. Is it just me or has Spring been a long time coming?
Thank you LYNETTE for all your pictures. How is your daughter getting along?
LINDY Tomasz is indeed a proud big brother!
My youngest daughter Fiona has secured a house to rent. Hurrah! Now she (and her Mum) will have fewer sleepless nights. It is a new build, well, one year old and in immaculate condition. Which is important to everyone but especially my daughter;-)) Indeed when she is coming to stay with either my eldest daughter or me we give our homes what we fondly call a 'Fee clean'.
I'd better stop now in case this p ost disappears. Have a good day ALL and don't work too hard xx
