This may help with the location. The site is clearly rich with fish!
Birdies LG DU update.
Thank you for posting that link. The lakes were a trout fishery until quite recently but have now converted to coarse fish but trout are presumably still present. A couple of anglers in the local said that there are a lot of fish of different species so it was no doubt a welcome stop-over for the osprey.
Unknown said:I'm a long-term RSPB member but new to this forum, so apologies in advance for errors etc! I was in North Devon (Dolton) last week and on Thursday was walking near to the 10 acre lake complex at Stafford Moor when my wife pointed out what she thought was a buzzard. It clearly wasn't and on looking through binos clearly saw that it was an osprey - it did 2 large circles and then flew off towards the West. My first ever sighting so :o))
Welcome Peter. I hope you become a regular here. It is ever so exciting.
