IN THE HUMAN BREAST HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL
In February we said goodbye to Millicent, EJ's 100th chick to fledge from the famous nest. We continue to watch Breagha, our only remaining tagged osprey juvenile.
In March we await the arrival of EJ and Oden, to start another family of fascinating bobbleheads.
HOLDING-MY-BREATH TIME! EJ is out there somewhere and Oden not far behind. Godspeed to them and all our osprey.
Good evening all. June love the cat from Cicinatti zoo!
Im just catching up and an delighted that Laddie has returned and also 5N(04} ,25(10) AND 00(09) Rutland now have 4 returnees! 30(05) not too far and i wish her well look forward to her return.
Good news, Willow. I'm glad they are wondering in, each in ttheir own time, as they always do.
The Cincinnati Cat (lol that sounds like it should be a song. Isn't there one called "I'm a Glouster Cat?) Anyway the Cincinnati cat is of course of the cat family, but not a domestic cat. It has a more specific species name, but I don't know what it is.
I have been able to access, sign in to and now post on the Gabfest for the first time since last week (Wed?)23rd.
The nest is still empty since I last looked a short time ago.
Anyone else found your way back to the Gabfest yet?
wHEN I switch to "forum" to get our index I still get only the "Closed for maintenance" page.
I'm afraid to close out, for fear I won't be able to get back in, but I have entered this page anew in my favorites.
JUNE - You need to delete your browsing history otherwise you may get this Closed for Maintenance Page. I had to do this.
Dont ask any more I am not an IT man - but am sure others can assist you.
Welcome Back - Unfortunately since we have been off air I do believe none of our known ospreys have returned the last being 24.3.2015
I am going back 10 years (2005) when similar happenings took place but then we had fewer ospreys and not as many followers to keep an eye out.
There are some big names well overdue and I do fear some may have come to grief. One consolation that keeps us optimistic is that two birds that are overdue are held up RAIN BOUND but are well.
I had a look around my own area at the weekend and nothing about so same story.
Well the positive - it gives a chance to the single non pairing osprey Female/Male that makes it.
Hi June & Keith, thank goodness things are back to normal!
I am trying not to worry too much, the chart shows 14 ospreys in the red now, surely it has to be bad weather.

STARLING - I do think the In the Red is a result of the bad weather firstly in The Sahara then Western Europe but during these bad weather seasons and I do go back to 2005 as a very bad year we do get some casualties.
However out of any casualties we may encounter we do get positives. At LG Odin was a positive from the casualty of Henry albeit a wee bit of Orange in between as an example and there are plenty of these to list.
Oh Dear Starling Well almost back to normal. I am LOL, not with amusement but with frustration.
It is GOOD to see you and Keith once again and to be able to chat a wee bit.
And to get news, even if it is negative nothing has happened news.
Keith, thank goodness you are always up to date with your own personal observations and contacts.
I know I need to clear the cache (i think is the term)& I think I can do that.
