Looks really cold at LG and LotL tonight with the LG nest under snow? Also noticed earlier - before the snow arrived - that the light at LG isn't nearly as bright as it has been. And poor Marge all on her ownsome at LotL.
Even in the dark it seems the nest is filling up with snow and the weather forecast is saying it may snow until Thursday morning,,,so, it would not surprise me if she decides to go South for a few days, although I have never heard of that happening...but she will be torn between the cold and her maternal instincts. Now it is getting light and it is almost a whiteout.

LG 7 days; RW & SWT nil; LDOP varies
Just after 6 a.m. UK time and nary a sign of EJ all night. Just got light and nest is under snow (as I'm sure everyone can see). Still darkish at LotL where Marge has been sitting on the nest - awake - all night. Next two days look rough, weatherwise for the girls. A shame after their warm winter homes...
Hi jsb: Wonder if any of the LG "old timers" can remember similar weather and how it affects the birds, if at all....
Morning all. Just opened the nest cam and could hardly believe my eyes

Hey Auntie: Yes, it's awful. Can't believe it; wonder where EJ spent the night.
Annette Ah EJ has known the odd bit of snow.

Oh that is reassuring. Thanks Tiger!!
EJ arrives.
I have just realised that the time and date are no longer on the camera.
Hi Annette, I don't know for sure, but, if the weather were too extreme, as it could be in Scandinavia, more so than Scotland, there would be a case for some sort of delay in the breeding season. Maybe Auntie, could say what happens in Finland? It really does look like winter at LG again and I don't think there will be much sun today either.

Ha. Well, Tiger, you got three out of three - I didn't even see EJ arrive (or leave) and never noticed the time and date in the first place. As I mentioned before, I did notice that last night's image wasn't as bright and high-contrast as in previous nights - and that was before it started snowing.
Anyway, I'm calling it a night. Take care all; have a nice Tuesday morning.
