Happy New Week all

  • Well, that link didn't seem to work but got a message saying it was a site error and that it had been reported.

Heather: Thanks for keeping me up-to-date with Lindybird's vacation plans!  :-)  So you're off to see your bro?

OG: That's a fascinating b/day gift - never seen a standing jigsaw before.

Clare: I'll be keeping an eye out for EJ and Lady.

Lynette: Great that the shoulder is all better.

  • Hi, Annette!  We're off to Minsmere today - and yes, I've wrapped up very warm as there's a thick frost outside.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning! Have a great time at Minsmere, Clare & Limpy! Thanks to Annette for starting us off again. Lynette - Good that your shoulder has righted itself, it sounded painful. We are out for a short walk & a bit of fresh air, before it rains at lunchtime.
  • Good Morning ALL. A frosty, and where the roads/ lanes were still wet, an icy morning. The sun is shining now, but still very cold as the wind has a biting edge to it.

Thanks, as always, to Annette for starting the week.

Lynette, Pleased that your shoulder injury has healed. As you say, although it is convenient to food shop on line, I do prefer to see before I buy. I also have a favourite butcher and farm shop.

Linda, The dog would be lovely even without the leaves. Thanks. Hope you have enjoyed your walk.

  • Good afternoon all a miserable day here with a drizzly rain making it unpleasant. Yesterday was a lovely sunny but cold day and had a trip to Loch Leven and the snowdrops on the walk to the shop and cafe were lovely. Had a coffee and a scone in the cafe and the scones were still warm. Bought some bird food and a Vote for BOB shopping bag I can start feeding the birds again as I don't have Diesel who used to chase the birds and eat the bird food.

My large oven of my double oven has stopped heating properly so went on the hunt for a new one and there is an independent supplier near who I can get one from and he only charges £36 to fit it whereas Curry wants £90 to do the same job. I would do it myself but it is too heavy to lift and then you also have to get rid of the old one.

    Hope everyone keeps well.

  • Hello George. The rain hasn't arrived here yet but due any time soon. The wind is very cold and gusty, though. Just back from a walk with OH. My ears are tingling and my eyes are watering. So glad to be back in the warm house.

I always find it funny that well fed dogs still want to eat bird seed.

Glad you shopped around and were able to get your oven fitted so much cheaper than Currys. I always prefer to buy from an independent, local supplier if they can quote a good price and service. You may find that they send two men for lifting the ovens in and out. Hope you will be happy with the oven when it is in situ.

  • Its getting dark here already! Not surprising really, as when at the furthest point of our walk, it began to spit and then very soon, to rain that strange kind of freezing rain. Needless to say, by the time we had returned to the car & driven home, it was snowing. Its been doing that blustery rain ever since, with the odd very large snowflake in it, so its probably snowing in the hills a few miles away. George - sorry about your oven, but I think you've done the right thing. At least someone else will have to do all the shoving and lifting! Sounds as if you had a pleasant morning out.
  • Hallo all:

Clare: Hope you managed to stay warm at Minsmere.  Hope you won't be too anxious waiting for pesky phone calls this week - I hate that!

George: The day out at Loch Leven sounds lovely - sun, snowdrops - and warm scones to top it off. Yum!  Smart to let someone else sort out the oven.

    Lindybird: What a lovely photo.

    Brenda: Hi to you!

Just put a batch of brownies in the oven. Have warned OH that I'll be watching the Academy Awards this afternoon - my annual shameless celebrity binge event. I hope the presenters don't make too many stupid little speeches - they're so obviously scripted it's painful; otherwise I'll be shouting at them to Get On With It!  Have a pile of ironing I'm holding off until then - and then there's that jigsaw, which I'll have to finish pretty quick coz it's on the table we use for daughter's guinea pig cage. I'll be guinea-pig sitting when daughter will goes off to AZ for Ms D's fourth b/day. Daughter will be staying there for two or three weeks, but I'll be zooming over there for about 4 days right around the actual day(St. Patrick's Day).  OH won't be coming (not a noisy get-together person), so he'll get to chat to guinea pig while I'm gone. Daughter is taking her dog this time - thank heaven; I'd rather not spend two hours at day watching the dear old thing sniff every plant and post in the neighborhood. There, he'll have 10 acres to run around on.

  • Hi Annette. I did laugh at the thought of your OH just having the guinea pig to chat to, while you are away, celebrating Ms D's Birthday. Don't get too aggressive when watching the AA awards, especially if you have the iron in your hand. LOL

Linda, I hope you have now decided what is going in the cases and how much suncream you are allowed to take :-))

The heavy rain and strong winds arrived about 4pm and it all sounds very noisy outside.
