A crow has been looking for scraps, and having a go at a twiggy twig on the rhs.

Yes you would think that. However the Threave 2012 brood hung around until about 6 October.
My goodness, that was late. Was that due to late hatching and 80 being a wonderful Dad? While Aran continues to bring in the meals, I guess they know nothing better, and it will be a mix of lack of food and weather.

The female failed to return that year and it took Black 80 a long time to accept a new mate. Dyfi wrote a blog about it in September 2012
