WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY FEBRUARY 8, 2015

Good Morning Everyone. Grey sky, here, also , Linda. 4.0c so not as cold. We enjoyed a long walk yesterday in sunshine.
We watched the Bafta Awards last night, but I was disappointed in Stephen Fry as the presenter.  

We were disappointed too - he can be funny & clever, but last night descended into schoolboy type remarks. We enjoyed the rest of it, glad that Eddie Redmayne won but also disappointed that Timothy Spall wasn't even nominated for what sounds like a towering performance in "Turner".

Doing exciting things like mopping the kitchen floor, and finding homes for things which I've turfed out of cupboards as being "in the wrong place" - but where is the right place? Will I ever see these items again if I tuck them away somewhere new? Probably not, LOL!!

Linda, We have a kitchen draw, which seems to have become a 'don't know where to put it' or 'too lazy to put away properly' draw. I looked this morning and it had garden twine and secateurs in it. Obviously one of us felt too lazy to put them away outside. The draw is nearest to the back door.

Hello everyone

I have been enjoying all your news,chat and pics.

Life here is much and such the same as usual.

OH has an appointment for cataract surgery on 18th February. He says he is not worried about it but he is complaining of various tummy symptoms,which he often gets when he is stressed.

Bit quiet on here today! Only yesterday I was thinking that we had made a lot of posts last week. The doorbell just rang; the van man had brought a dog crate we have bought - several of our friends recommend putting your dog (& its bed) into a crate and leaving the door open in the daytime, then shutting it in at night. The idea that she could be less destructive certainly appeals. Then less than 5 minutes later, the bell rang again and there was quite a big box containing some veterinary bedding! We thought this might be useful if we put the crate in the car for travel.

Heather - you came on whilst I was writing. I don't know if you read it, but my OH had each of his eyes "done" about 18 months ago - he was nervous the first time, but when he went in for the 2nd one, he acted as if it was just a dental checkup!! So that just shows how little he was upset, you can tell your OH! Very common now, we seem to know a lot of people who've had the procedure. Hope all goes smoothly on the 18th.

LINDY I did indeed read your reassuring message at the time and passed it on to my OH. He is I think more apprehensive than he might otherwise be because he has had shockingly poor distance vision since his late teens. Thankfully modern technology gives him thinner lenses in his specs, they used to be ' bottle bottoms'. He can read without specs,though! Anything to do with eyesight just worries him, even if he's being brave and not admitting it...
