It is the first day of a new month and the last osprey free month as far as us in Britain are concerned.
Mind you our first thoughts today are where Millie is? After a long stay near the Senegal river she took off south on 17 January and we anxious await the next download to see where she has ended up.
The wait for both EJ and Odin is getting really short now.
Just exactly when will they arrive? Will Blue XD be racing north in contrast to last year when the weather was somewhat against him?
The other big question is "Will Lady Return?" I said a year ago that I was not ruling it out and I am not going to this year either.
Mind you last season has not really finished at Kielder yet with all the antics of the tracked juveniles.
Last year we were asking if Blue YD would move north. Well as most of you know he did but then disappointingly his transmitter failed in Yorkshire. This year of course the big question is will Blue CF4 move north? I feel sure he will. Of course Blue CF4 is better known to us as Breagha. What a huge excitement his return should be.
There is so much excitement to look forward to. Better get all the housework and other chores done as from 1st March there is going to be little time to catch up (on the housework that is).
What great excitement lies in store?

Well the wait for EJ has dropped below 50 days See Loch Garten Countdown
Even below 49 days now.
Now published the story of Green 7B
The poles for the planned nesting platforms at Abberton Reservoir have now arrived and are going up in the next two months.

Hello Limpy, where is Abberton. Do osprey nest there presently or is this platforms to encourage them to do so?
Abberton is just south of Colchester in Essex. Ospreys don't nest there but there have been regular sightings of young birds in the last few years.
The big question also - will Rothie be sighted at Lowes as he seems to have his eyes set on that. And of course lest not forget Laddie who has forged a place in history for himself. And hoping that Glesni makes it safely back and early to claim her nest. Yes exciting months ahead but also worrying ones. I hope that YD is safe and sighted and of course I am wishing very much for sight of 'lost' birds.

Well we may have news of Rothiemurchus before that. Two people are going out to the Gambia and are going to have a look to see if they can find him.
Also today marks the point where it is less than 40 days until the first osprey is due back.
I don't know how I managed to miss that Rothiemurchus was no longer transmitting a signal. I hope he is fine and that he is seen soon.

Nothing from Rothiemurchus since November 7/8 2014
