FEBRUARY - The days may be getting longer, but it is still our coldest month. Just a wonderful month to curl up and snooze until our osprey arrive back in Scotland. - - and Wales and England. I don't know of any in Ireland.
WendyB has recently given us a link to an Albatross family cam which should prove entertaining as we continue our countdown to the arrival of EJ and Odin. With Keith on Bioko Island for he month, he may have a few adventures to share with us.
Let us remember that February is the month of romance, too.
June -- Loch Garten at night - how beautiful. I don't know why but the phrase "the gloaming" sprang up in my head. I don't even know what it means.

After sunset but before dark apparently is the definition CC
The place for Roamin in the Gloamin is by The Bonny Banks of Clyde or anywhere in Scotland for the matter with a Lassie by Yourside.
Andy Stewart will sing you a medley including Roamin in the Gloamin.
ROAMIN IN THE GLOAMIN
As LMAC says it is after the sun has gone to rest - and before dark.
JUNE - This week in pictures is good this week and includes your Kelpies Horses not far from Stirling.
A few other places may interest you including Glenfinnan Viaduct.
YOUR PICTURES
Gloaming is a lovely word. In the long summer evenings, it is that time when it is no longer full daylight, but not yet dark night. The full heat of the summer sun has let up for the day and the coolness is refreshing. The cool soft light makes it perfect for a slow stroll through a green country lane with that special someone.
Gloaming, that perfect time for a walk around the garden or across the road and along the path to the small pond, with wild flowers blooming along the way, dragon flies hovering over and maybe a frog or two to splash in as you approach.
CC I think the above picture may be a wee bit past true gloaming, but I'm sure many a "roamin in the gloamin" has ended up just like this. BTW how wonderful a walk around Loch Garten would be in the gloaming.
Keith, I enjoyed Andy's version of Roamin in the Gloamin, but it is a wee bit raucus for the lovely quiet mood of gloaming, when the only sounds are the sounds of nature: tiny unseen tree frogs, a katydid or cricket and back in the old days the haunting call of a whiporwill. And of course, all about, the silent fireflies/lightening bugs. Truly such a wonderful time of day.
Some of "Your Pictures" are so lovely they take my breath away. Thanks for sharing.

Here are a couple versions of "In the gloaming" a song whose mood I think better suits this lovely time of day. Although the words reflect too much on the past instead of the future.
BTW while the gloaming is an ideal time for a romantic walk, it is also the ideal time for playing children: hide and seek, catching fireflies, etc.
Now if that is too much elevator music for a younger generation how about change g the mood with this?
Two pictures that attracted my attention yesterday.
Yesterday was last day of testing of cameras at Dyfi and whilst doing so they caught this live streaming of a Kestrel landing on Monty's perch - I took a screen shot of it. Today is volunteers training day before opening - however we await our star performers.
Another great snap of Stirling at Dunedin yesterday taken by Kim Begay who was passing by the nest. They should get the new cam up this week.
