FEBRUARY - The days may be getting longer, but it is still our coldest month. Just a wonderful month to curl up and snooze until our osprey arrive back in Scotland. - - and Wales and England. I don't know of any in Ireland.
WendyB has recently given us a link to an Albatross family cam which should prove entertaining as we continue our countdown to the arrival of EJ and Odin. With Keith on Bioko Island for he month, he may have a few adventures to share with us.
Let us remember that February is the month of romance, too.
Hope you got to church this morning June and weather not too punishing!
CC you are luck to have a man plough your drive for you! LOL Hope you are keeping warm, springs round the corner!
Willow in just a few years, we have tragically lost too many of our members. Very sad indeed. Then of course the sad loss of so many of our beloved ospreys.
I did get to church. Always a balm for whatever ails me, whether it be spiritual or physical. Weather is not bad at all, just quite pleasant winter weather. I need to go back out, will try to get some pictures of piled up snow.
I too am particularly fond of fog and think it often makes for a lovely picture.
This is another picture of my ex minister, Rev Shaw. He is very proud of his Indian/Native American background and as such is official storyteller for his Shawnee tribe. As such he has been invited to speak across the United States and also into Europe, I remember Germany.
My husband also had a very strong native American background. His mother and father both had roots in the Seminole Tribe of Florida. In appearance he had a close resemblance to the Indian on an American Nichol.
And another of Rev. Shaw. He and his son participate in historical dramas usually of the Civil War period or later, I think.
You can see why, when he stepped forward to give his sermon, my husband often said "Showtime!!"
Recent photographs by Lincoln Karim from his PaleMale site. www.palemale.com/february132015.html
For any new Gabbers who may not be familiar with PaleMale, he is a red tailed Hawk who is the resident male of a nest located on an expensive, ornate residential building on Fifth Avenue, New York city. The nest overlooks Central Park where PaleMale does most of his hunting.
Lincoln has watched PaleMale faithfully for many years, posting almost daily museum quality photographs.. The first on this site was 2002.
And more of Lincoln's photo's. What does the squirrel think he is going to do with that tennis ball??
Lovely photos, June--thanks.
Kind regards, Ann
