WEEKLY CHAT (Non Osprey Topics) SUNDAY FEBRUARY 1st 2015

Where did January go? Really interesting hearing about all the new/pending pups - think you have found some surrogate owners!!!

  • Great news OG!

CLARE, I hope that LIMPY improves soon.

    Thanks, everyone for your news.

  • OG that is great news. You both must be delighted - enjoy your weekend now.

  • Yesterday Dau’s cat took refuge from the 2-legged pests – high on top of Dau’s corner china cabinet. I put myself to bed at 9 pm last night. Today is going to be a long day as it’s only 7 am & I’ve been awake since 4.30. OH is busy watering garden early. We are expecting a hot week. Only 39 max today. We have a series of festival in March (known as Mad March here). The first, the Fringe starts next week (in Feb!), followed by Carnevale, Womadelaide, Festival of Arts and sone noist car race. Hotels & eating places are happy to see tourist dollars.

  • Thanks for letting us know, OG. So pleased that J is safely home and all is fine.

  • Thanks for support, everybody.  Will try to catch up on replies tomorrow - spent the afternoon making Easter cards - I find card-making is very calming and therapeutic!

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • OG: Glad you are being productive!!! I bought a birthday card today, an unusual occurrence but I've not made many cards in the last six months, for some reason. We have a glut of birthdays over the next three months, in the family, then hardly any in June & July! I am planning two special cards to make, though, as our Youngest is to celebrate his 10th Anniversary this summer, and some friends are to have their Ruby Anniversary soon.
  • Dibnlib, Lovely photographs of Benson, I, especially love the second photograph.
I have just enjoyed watching England win the rugby match against Wales.

AQ, I know Margo's cat seems to like the highest piece of furniture to go asleep, sometimes. Love the way your Mad March starts mid February.  Only 39c, that is cool ( not ) LOL. I would be so tired in that heat and that would be without nanny duty etc.

  • Dibnib - how handsome Benson is and he looks as if he is enjoying himself.

OG - glad all OK with J.

AQ - seems as though you are preparing for more hot weather. Just been reading about Australia and some of the best places to see in the Daily Telegraph Travel pages, quite interesting. Would love to get over sometime and see some of the places but I don't think that will happen - at least one can dream.

Clare - good luck with your second interview and do hope all goes well.  Sorry to read that Limpy has a bad back. It happens occasionally to OH and he's in agony for a few days. Hope he soon feels a lot better.

Have a great weekend, folks.  Take care.

  • After my last post I put myself back to bed, slept for 2 hours and now feel almost human.

Lynette - If your dream lands in Adelaide I would love to take you sightseeing.

  • Evening all:

Lindybird:  I think Sheila and Auntie pop in to the Daily Updates when the birds are at LG, but haven't seen Wattle for eons.  If any of you guys are lurking, please say Hallo!  :-)

Brenda: Great detective work! Thank you. Nice to know the missing trio are still in circulation.

Clare: Brilliant that you're getting called for another interview - you must have a good resume (CV to you).  Hope Limpy feels better soon - but he can do some stretching exercises for sciatica, which I'm sure the physio folks will show him.

dibnlib: Good to see you - and Benson.  Smart to put the hare on hold, but I know what you mean about impulse purchases - I used to buy plants that way.  I think we have hares here but call them jackrabbits.

OG: Great news for J and you guys (us too!) Also nice to know there are some happy endings in the eagle world. Re card making, I feel the same about jigsaws - so absorbing.  I've just started another one: an Impressionist piece by a Canadian artist of a lake in the Fall (lots of golds and reds).

Wendyb: How old will eldest be in town?

AQ: Aaack. Hate it when I wake up so early, but good to read you managed an extra two hours. Almost human sounds normal!

Off to breakfast with friend tomorrow and - very exciting news - we're in for a weekend of rain. Hurray!!

    Have a good Saturday everyone.
