WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, JANUARY 25, 2015

Happy New Week all.

Big surprise this morning!!!  Heard a knock on the front door at 8:15 and thought it was the neighbor who'd just had a load of bricks delivered to their driveway, but NO!!  It was my granddaughter, with a basket of flowers, champagne, scones she'd baked plus jars of lemon and raspberry curd on a spur-of-the-moment trip to celebrate my birthday early!!  I was amazed and thrilled. She had a few days off what with shift changes, etc., and since we don't get to spend a lot of "just us" time, she decided to drive here to spend a day with me and OH without the rest of the family buzzing about.  She even made dinner reservations at our favorite restaurant in Montecito!   You can't believe how thrilled I was - and so happy - what a special treat.  She's off to her Mom's tomorrow (daughter is not aware she's in town at all, so that'll be another unexpected treat) and they'll spend the day together before she drives back to Arizona on Monday.   So happy!

Will respond to posts tomorrow, but in the meantime, take care everyone.  :-)))))

  • Yes Lindy, we love to hear about everyone's pets and animal stories!!!

  • Linda, You can't stop talking about your puppy, that would be so cruel !!

Starling, What a precious little darling. You must be so impatient waiting to get your puppy home with you.

OG, Pleased to hear that J is back home. I hope there will be no more snow on top of the slush, which will freeze if the the forecast temperatures are correct. Are you feeling better now ?

  • Strange day weather wise...

Visited Loch Morlich and Loch Garten both chilly and frozen.

    Saw Cresties at the centre:-)

Hang in there George a diagnosis will come as it took months to sort out Daisys epilepsy and skin problems. A very happy dog now.

Wish I could post photos from my I phone..

  • Just popping in with super news!!  Stray dog that I took to the Animal Shelter was claimed yesterday by his owners who saw an ad I placed on a community site.  Apparently, they are visiting from Texas and the dog (his name is Cheech) jumped out of their car and took off.  Animal Control e-mailed me and said it was a "happy reunion."  Hurray!!!!

Will catch up with everyone later. Can't stop smiling.

  • Lindybird - do keep talking about your puppy, we are all sharing your excitement and I also love hearing stories about pets from other posters.

Starling -   what a lovely little puppy, I bet you are longing to get him home.

George -   do hope that Diesel will improve now with the different medication, it is so worrying to have a pet who is not well.

Annette-  what a dear little dog you found , so glad he is being safely looked after now and I do hope he finds a new home soon.

Margo -  have a lovely week-end with your OH and little Billie.

still got quite a bit of snow here but it has been thawing today, walked around the garden and several clumps of snowdrops just showing through and a beautiful Witch Hazel in full flower.  We are supposed to be getting more snow with wind as well tomorrow.  I am going into Inverness for a Cactus Club meeting so I hope weather conditions will not be too bad.

  • Annette-  Just seen your news , how wonderful that Cheech has been reunited with his owners!  And all due to you!

  • Annette, What brilliant news. Thanks to you, the owners have been reunited with their dog. You should be smiling :-))

  • Annette: Cheech is back, /He's been so missed - /We tried to search/Did not desist/Our thanks will go/To dear Annette/Your kindness we will not forget!!/Our poor "boy" was all alone/But you got straight onto the phone/Whilst feeding grub meant for the cat - He's glad now e'en for that!! /After a bath and good rub down/You searched all around the town./ A happy ending now is here/You'll not be forgotten/Never fear!!!
  • What brilliant news!! Well done, Annette!! His owners must be thrilled. Starling: Such a dear little face! Thanks for posting.
  • OG : Glad all is well with you and yours. Such awful winter conditions lately. Let's hope we're past the worst of it now for this year, although its supposed to be very cold this weekend. Rita: Take care on your journey tonight.
