Birdies LG DU update.
Good morning all. Still no Maya :( Theres still time i suppose. Hope todays the day.
An update from Tim re 30(05) and comment on the Manton Bay situation.
Thank you Mike
Thanks for the link Mike. Not looking good is it? Not giving up just yet! It would be very sad indeed as there were no eggs at Manton Bay last year.
Thank you MIKE for the link. ''Wonkey winged'' 28 has made it home safely. I'm not giving up on Maya yet
I wonder if they'll ever name a bird again if Maya fails to return? I'm fairly sure she's the only bird they've ever officially named...and they only did it last year. It would be heartbreaking if this historic bird didn't appear.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Rutland have always had a policy of NOT naming birds but the exception was last year as she was frequently referred to as Mrs 5R and being without a Darvic ring and eventually without him it was a compromise but I suggest unlikely to be repeated.
Does anyone know where 28(10) has been ? Is he pairing up on one of the other nests with one of the females whose mates hasn't returned yet ?
How long will it be till Mr Rutland and his mate have eggs ? I reckon they could be first in the laying this year.
