I cannot find a new thread for Rutland 2015. Is that right?

EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
It looks like a young black-headed gull (though I could be wrong!).
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Thanks so much KATE and KETH for the date info re Maya - just caught up with that via a text from SCYLLA (thank you) . So, ok , I won't panic yet then. And yes, I think it's a Black -Headed Gull still in it's winter plumage CLARE (watch that spot :) )
I thought it was a youngster as it still has patchy wings as well as a pale head. Most, if not all, of our black-headed gulls are proudly sporting their dark heads now.
Your'e ahead of me there then KATE. I'm still learning. Patchy wings. I must pay closer attention.
I'm lucky enough to have lots of gulls locally. It's fascinating watching them all.
No geese this morning @ 5.20 am

Oh Oh - spoke too soon, this lady is checking the nest out :-)
Who is this? they are chasing away?
Good morning Kate. I'd say it is another of their kind. There has been a lot of 'posturing' over the last few days from time to time.
Birdies LG DU update.
They have gone now! :-) Don't want to see them lay any eggs.... Hope Mrs.5R gets back soon.
