I cannot find a new thread for Rutland 2015. Is that right?

EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Brilliant news all round. Thanks for bringing across Mary
Is 28 the wonderful 'wonky' winged Osprey? Hwo super super
Yes he is Cirrus. He and Maya laid eggs last year.
What a great blog, love the pic of them both together on the nest as though they are both incubating.
What a wonderful BLog. If only there was a reply button I'd love to leave a comment. I'm so happy for them all but particularly 28 and 30
Many thanks Clare for linking the threads of my recent visit to Rutland on this thread. I had to go and see the Ospreys for myself; I know from my experiences with the Sheffield Peregrines that, as fabulous as they are, webcams can't better a personal sighting of the birds. I also gained a sense of perspective from viewing the site which now enhances my enjoyment of the webcam and this forum.
I was initially hesitant about posting or linking my pics on here as they simply don't do justice to the experience I had. My lens isn't long enough and I'm not a sufficiently talented (or dedicated) photographer to justify the cost of upgrading. However if my pics do help some of you to get a better idea of what the Rutland site is like in the wider view then that's great.
On the day I did get some great views with my bins, and to see Maya plunge into the water was mind-blowing. I'd urge anyone who can, and hasn't, been there to go. For me it was a bucket list experience and it exceeded all my expectations.
Regards
Ian
I thought you got some great photos and frankly you'd have to be a fantastic photographer with one of those whopping lenses to come close to capturing the ospreys at the distances they tend to stick to. You're absolutely spot on about webcams not being able to beat actual sightings of the birds - you were lucky enough to catch Maya having a nice bath, perhaps she saw you coming! Rutland is a wonderful place and I hope you make it back there in the near future. In the meantime you'll be able to watch Maya on the webcam and have happy memories of seeing her and Blue 33 in the feather!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Clare Bailey said: Blue XD isn't ugly. It just didn't help that the majority wanted to see him poodle off to his own nest. Preferably without EJ.

Oh, ha ha ha CLARE. I did have a laugh at your post. And quite right , that was it: just poodle off XD preferably without EJ
He is a nice looking bird, though.
A Misty scene at Rutland this morning.
