I cannot find a new thread for Rutland 2015. Is that right?

Well I guess we cannot complain as it has been a fairly dry start to the season so far.

From Rutland THE BATTLE FOR SITE B.
I am half way through this, and it doesn't make for pleasant reading. I feel so sad for 03(97).... going to read rest of it now.
It is full of wonderful photos from John Wright, it is just such a shame that the content isn't nice to read.
Amazing story, the one nest I thought was certain to have chicks now in serious doubt.
I imagine we will see more battles each year as the youngsters start returning.
Thanks Mary for the link.
No, it doesn't make pleasant reading but I am just full of admiration for 03(97) - what a bird! I just hope no-one gets injured - these battles are ferocious.
A terrible time too for the female and so very sad about the eggs.
This is the one nest I always thought of as "solid" but now we can only wait and see what transpires here!
It just shows how unpredictable Ospreys are, as you say Karen it is such a shame about the female losing the eggs, hopefully if they are left in peace she can produce another clutch and everything will work out ok for them.
Why don't these young birds go elsewhere and find other females and build their own nests. I think Rutland is ending up a victim of its own success with all these returning birds.
