I cannot find a new thread for Rutland 2015. Is that right?

TRANSFERRED OVER...
EJ's Memorial Balgavies Loch Ospreys 2023
Thanks for the captures Scylla and Kate! Do you think they have removed many of last year's branches? Looks like these branches are wired down.
Kind regards, Ann
Goose is back despite the frost!.

Ann. It certainly looks to have been 're-furbished'
Birdies LG DU update.
Mike, Perhaps the ladder still there implies the refurbishment is not yet complete?
A quote from the team
Quote from RW Osprey team latest: " The ladder is not going to remain against the nest all season, of course. It is only there whilst we sort out the cameras (and fix them should there be problems), and it also helps to deter any naughty nest-nabbers, also known as Egyptian Geese! The ladders will come down well before any Ospreys are expected."

Ann the latest blog mentions that it is there as a deterrent !!. I also suspect they may wish to make sure all is well with the camera before removing it. Erecting a ladder to the nest,in the middle of the lagoon, is a difficult task so I guess they fixed it rather than have to erect it each time they go out in the boat. It will of course be removed before the Ospreys return. In the past the nest has been covered with a builders bag to stop the geese but inevitably once that was removed the geese took advantage anyway. All will be resolved once the Ospreys return although the geese will sometimes 'push their luck'... but not for long!.
EDIT. Posts crossed!.
Thanks Tiger and Mike. The ladder seems not to be worrying the geese at all!
The goose has been more on than off the nest all morning (having slept there most of the night, I imagine). They need a scarecrow, not a ladder ;-)

Should that not be a scaregoose?
I wonder why so much of Blue33's work has been undone? He's going to hate having to do it all again ;-D
