27 Apr: Cloudy skies with some sunny spells, clearing in the evening. Winds moderate to fresh westerly. Cloudy skies for most of the day with some sunny spells clearing in the late afternoon. Moderate to fresh west to south-westerly winds. A very good day of raptors with 15 different species seen, and some good counts. Totals included 143 Honey Buzzards, 430 Black Kites, 4 Egyptian Vultures, and exceptional total of 205 Griffon Vultures with two birds rescued from the sea by the Royal Gibraltar Police, 36 Short-toed Eagles, 11 Marsh Harriers, a Hen Harrier, 4 Montagu's Harriers, 34 Sparrowhawks, 127 Booted Eagles, 4 Ospreys, 6 Hobbies, 3 Kestrels and 2 Lesser Kestrels and a Lesser Spotted Eagle*. Also seen were 35 White Storks, 8 Black Storks, 40 Bee-eaters, 12 Swallows, 4 House Martins and 3 Common Swifts.
A poor day for passerine migrants though, with only 9 birds ringed and included 2 Nightingales, and single Whitethroat, Subalpine Warbler, Bonelli's Warbler, Willow Warbler and a House Sparrow.
26 Apr: Overcast for most of the day with some showers and bright spells. Winds fresh to strong south-westerly. Very strong winds prevented much of the raptor passage but some birds did manage to cross the Strait for a total of 90 Honey Buzzards, 91 Black Kites, a Montagu's Harrier, 22 Booted Eagles, 6 Sparrowhawks, an Osprey and a Buzzard, and 12 Hobbies. Also seen were 4 Black Storks 7 Swallows and 3 Common Swifts.
25 Apr: Cloudy skies with some showers and a moderate to fresh west to north west wind. Dull conditions affacted the raptor passage with only 237 Honey Buzzards, 386 Black Kites, single Griffon and Egyptian Vultures, 10 Marsh Harriers, 2 Montagu's Harriers, 10 Sparrowhawks, 17 Booted Eagles, a Buzzard, 2 Ospreys and 7 Hobbies counted throughout the day. Also seen were 6 Black Storks, 18 Swallows, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 6 Serins and 2 Goldfinches.
Windy conditions in the net rides prevented the capture of migrants with only one Melodious Warbler ringed.
24 Apr: Mainly clear skies with some cloud from the west. Winds light to moderate westerly. A trickle of raptors increasing in the afternoon for a total of 118 Honey Buzzards, 321 Black Kites, 3 Griffon Vultures, a Short-toed Eagle, a female Marsh Harrier, 2 Montagu's Harrier, 8 Sparrowhawks, 22 Booted Eagles, an Osprey and a Hobby. Also seen were 3 Black Storks and 5 Swallows.
