belated news of one on Friday (02/01)
Blimey! I wasn't expecting a UK sighting for at least a couple of months.
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Alan - I was only commenting yesterday on the New Jersey Osprey that has remained north at Cape May.
Was not expecting a sighting in UK and in the words of Venessa Greene - A rather behavioral aberration from the norm.

Reminiscent of the sighting reported on 10 January 2014 at St Combs near the Loch of Strathbeg, don't you think?

I do remember that sighting from a reliable bird watcher. No pictures though.
Tiger Signature
Unfortunately not, Tiger, but it was seen by two separate birdwatchers on three consecutive days in two different locations.
