Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Just to say, I am not feeling very chatty since we came back home, but everything is okay with us.
Hi to all
Saw this in the newspaper this morning, OG. Also a lot of spite about RSPB.
Sorry been missing, have read all and especially agree with BRENDA's post regarding Bush fires, AQ.
Just very busy here, dismantling decorations etc and catching up with washing and housework. Tumble dryer died yesterday, engineer will come tomorrow. It's 11 years old but we may give it another chance depending on the verdict.
Hello All - Am still catching up with housework, washing, etc. Have started to take all the decorations down, but will probably not manage the Tree until tomorrow. Have had a quiet time over the last couple of days. Yesterday, all my children and grandchildren met up at my eldest son's house and I joined them on 'Skype' and was able to talk to them and see them all through lunch, I was a bit envious of the food they were tucking in to! I was asked to go down there also, but I decided not to go as it is about 600 miles, a long way to drive at this time of year. As it happens, the weather would have been alright for driving.
AQ Sorry to read about the dreadful bush fires near you, glad that you are safe. hope they will get them under control soon.
Dibnlib - Must try some Kale sprouts when I see them
OG so sad to read about the Eagle.
Enjoy the rest of the day all.
Hi, all. Hope you all have a good week. You all sound very busy.
Annette: Have you seen any of the birds from the massive, mysterious die off of the Cassin's Auklets? I heard about it on NPR yesterday. What a strange story that is! It's affecting an unprecedented geographical area (from British Columbia to San Luis Obispo) and time period (since October).
AQ: I'm glad you aren't in the direct path of the fires. I hope your area gets a break from the weather/conditions and the fire fighters can get the fires under control.
Rita: Sorry you couldn't join your family. That is a long drive.Have a good week, everyone.
Morning all: Spent frustrating hour with OH's ancient computer (when IS he going to take a hammer to it!) entering financial info from December (hate those Split transactions in Quicken); just had breakfast and could go back to sleep. But no.
Good luck with all your housecleaning everyone - mine's done! :-))
DIANE: No, didn't see that about the Auklets, but never good to hear about mass die-offs. Are you caught in yet another Polar Vortex (or whatever the media is calling it this week?)
Off to figure out next move......

Annette: Yup. 10 days of Arctic cold starting last night. Tuesday and Wednesday night should be the worst, around -8 F ( -22.2 C ). The "feels like" wind chill temperatures predicted to be -20 to -30 F (-28.8 to -34.4 C). 7 inches of snow due tonight. I'm sending it all to AQ.
I was cutting my hair yesterday in the bathroom and R. T. Hawk screeched right outside the window. I guess he could hear me in there. I don't think he's happy about the cold, either. :-)
Take care, all.
