Yikes! I remember writing 1950 for the first time on a paper at St. Theresa's!! :-(
Happy New Week.
Clare, Sorry I made that mistake. The only connection being that they both begin with 'F'. Stupid me !!!
AQ, Wow, what a difference in your weather. Now rain and flooding. Heavy rain on very dry land does not sound good. Hope you will be fine.
Hope you all stay safe in forecast storms, especially those North of the Border.

Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

Looks like the wind is really wild in Scotland and Northern England - hope you all are safe.
Just got an e-mail, the Gray Whale Count for 2015 starts February 17! :-)
Good morning ALL
Terrible gales here through the night, we have power but I believe that RITA may not. All trains are cancelled and bridges closed but our newspapers have just been delivered so we can't be totally cut off!!
ANNETTE - amazing to think Whale Count is coming round again so soon!
HEATHER - pleased you are safe and with power - waiting to hear from Daughter re power and roofs! Was a noisy night here, but nothing damaging.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Yes OG I was thinking about your daughter. Glad you have no damage. The noise was quite scary at times, we didn't sleep much. The folk in the West seem to have had it worse though.
Daughter okay. Not much sleep, power off so cold breakfast and wash before work. Slow and difficult journey, trees down and abandoned cars, lack of traffic lights and diverted traffic from bridge! Keeping warm at work, but wondering whether to leave while still light this evening. No news on state of the cottage - hasn't had a chance to check.
