WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, JANUARY 4, 2015

Yikes!  I remember writing 1950 for the first time on a paper at St. Theresa's!!  :-(

Happy New Week.

  • Hi all,

Frosty, foggy, and a bit slippery underfoot first thing but frost did eventually go. Turned out to be a cold day though.

AQ - sorry to hear about the bushfires raging, do hope you are safe. Sad about the cats and dogs losing their lives at the home.

Went to church this morning and then back via our local college garden centre to stock up on bird food.  Got to the counter to pay and found I'd brought the wrong gift vouchers out with me. Felt a bit of an idiot but they said they would put them to one side and dau will pick them up tomorrow when she is out and about - she's not back at work till Tuesday.

Here is tonights pic of Harriet and the wee ones.

  • Hope you enjoyed your swim, Dibnib.   I like sprouts too, but never heard of kale ones or should I say kale flowers.

AQ - good to hear they have found the two people who were missing and yes it does bring out the good in people when these sort of disasters strike.  Nice to know that people come together and help each other at these sort of times.

  • Very lazy day today, but did manage to organize refrigerator and toss out all kinds of dubious leftovers, then did a bit of ironing. Back into the normal routine tomorrow!  In the meantime, we're 20 minutes from the first installment of Downton Abbey, Season 5.  :-)

    Have a good Monday everyone.

  • up with Benson at 0630. A very mild morning at the mo, but may get colder.

  • Good Morning, Everyone. Cold again here, but not frosty. A pretty pink sky outside as the clouds are streaked by the morning sun coming out. AQ - good that the two missing people were found but sad about the poor dogs & cats. A day of putting stuff away here, today. I'm also resolved to clear out some of my clothes as I have an old leather coat which used to be a favourite but I have not worn for over three years, for instance :-( Must gird my loins and find some other things which are filling up the wardrobes!
  • Morning, Lindy.  Gird your loins?  That's a phrase I haven't heard for........hmmmm..........a long time!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • That's because I'm very, very, old, Clare!!! :-D
  • What, even older than Limpy?

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Good Morning ALL. A mild damp morning here. We have still got to take the lights off the large pot plants at the front door.

AQ, Watching the fires on the news this morning and the destruction the fires leave in their wake. The heartbreak of people standing, looking at the ashes of their homes and treasured possessions. The suffering of the helpless wildlife. It is a miracle that no lives have been lost. The tireless firefighters and volunteers are heroes.

Playing indoor bowls this afternoon, so routine is back to normal.

  • Enjoy your bowling, Brenda! We are sitting eating lunch amidst the debris of the decorations. I started with gusto, but had barely packed one box when I had to stop & help my helpless OH, who seems incapable of putting away the outdoor lights into the correct bags & boxes, even though they're labelled . Trying to discard some things which we didn't use this year, & may, just may, not need again..... And the dust on the bookcase etc!!! Aaaaaaaaaaargh!!
