As no one has made a new thread for 2015 I thought I would do it if that is OK....
I would also like to wish everyone a Happy New Year too. Here is a great video with a lovely Saxaphone Version of Auld Lang Syne.
Will check around to see if there is any news to post now.

I couldn't think where best to put this. It makes quite sad reading about Peregrine Falcons in Scottish Higlands. Maybe you have read it already.

I thought Roy sounded rather down in that article.
Yes Tiger, and after reading the article it's not surprising.
I agree, after reading RD's report, that the current state of affairs is very sad indeed! It is all very well that the Peregrines are surviving (thriving?) in an urban environment; greatly interesting & exciting for us 'townies' to have a golden opportunity to become familiar with the lifestyle of the species via many live webcams, but quite a different story to know that they have been driven from their natural breeding grounds by illegal persecution & starvation due to loss of habitats suitable to maintain their prey!
A very dismal story & an expert's view on the discussion OH & I were having just this evening about the sad plight of our bird species heading for extinction!
Sobering!

Something happier; first news, I think, of a European osprey returning to its nest - and she's a celebrity.
The blog of the Etang du Ravoir, on the Loire, is reporting the return of the female Panchita, who winters on the north coast of Spain.
