Weekly Chat (Non-Osprey Topics) - Sunday 28th December 2014

Good morning, all, and welcome to the last 2014 Weekly Chat thread!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Oh!! Its Sunday!!! Forgot that! Thanks to Clare for starting off the Chat Thread for the end of 2014. We are busy enjoying ourselves with family - had my first ever grin from Amber yesterday!!!!!!!! More visitors expected here today.
  • Hi, Lindy.  I bet that first grin was pure magic!

  • That's an understatement, Clare! She is obviously going to be a clubbing & disco girl - she loves all the flashing Christmas lights!!
  • White with frost outside this morning. .. .... Hope Everyone enjoys their Sunday. :-)
  • Good Morning all -    It is very, very cold here but nice sunshine yesterday, but none  so far today.    We braved the ice and cold to go to the Pantomime in Inverness yesterday which we all enjoyed.   Hopefully we will get out for a walk today, but it is not very good weather for trying out my grandsons new bike.

Annette -  So glad to hear that family and horses have arrived safely in Arizona, you can rest easy now!

Lindybird -  How lovely to receive your first smile from Amber.     Enjoy your day with all your visitors!

  • CLARE - thanks for starting our final week of December taking us into January.  I hope you three are enjoying the holidays.

ANNETTE - pleased to see the family and menagerie safely reached Arizona.  Lovely photos from you, of the beach scenery and of the Delightful Miss D.

LINDA - pleased your first little family arrived safe, and you are enjoying time with wee Amber.

We still have no snow, but a cold (minus 2 C) and sunny morning;  OH needs to spend some time outside to prepare the car for travelling, but will postpone to this afternoon when it could be up to plus 2 C.  We don't go until Tuesday, but there is extra to prepare as all three of us go away together this time.

J had to get a new car battery yesterday - couldn't get home from Carlisle, where he had been shopping.  All here at home today.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Good morning all just popping to say thank you all for birthday cards and wishes. OH last day at home as he is back to work tomorrow. We have so enjoyed our days together, it has been very special. Didn't manage our visit to my nephew and his family on Boxing Day as they all went down with very bad colds so I had to keep away. Very frosty still, bird baths frozen solid.

Hope you all enjoy the day.

  • RITA - missed your post.  Get rid of that ice and snow before we arrive there on Tuesday!  (We shall be staying at our usual B&B in Muir of Ord).

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • MARGO - missed you too - will email later - thanks for yours.

  • Good Morning ALL. We returned home yesterday after a lovely Christmas, but our daughter had a very heavy cold and earache, so we are all hoping that none of us have caught it. Temperature here is now 3.4c with sunshine. We had very little frost and the temperature only went down to -1c last night.

Thanks to Clare for starting the week. I hope you are all recovering from your colds Clare.

Linda, How lovely that Amber smiled for you. I am sure you are having a brilliant time.

Rita, Glad to see you were able to go and see the Pantomime. I guess you will have to put skis on your grandson's new bike.

Annette, Pleased to read that the family and horses arrived home safely.

OG, What a nuisance that J needed a new car battery. I do hope the weather improves for your journey North.
