Lovely, Keith. Two months plus in the making and well worth it!
It is noon here in southern Ohio, so that means 5:00 p.m. in Scotland and the UK in general and the beginning of NEW YEAR'S EVE. So a happy new year 2015 to all Gabbers everywhere.
It is also Wednesday so of course, I am listening to Jesse Andrews Music of Scotland. At the moment he is playing Tyree, the most beautiful of all.
WOBO is a local radio station, all volunteer. The only paid employee is the engineer. The hosts are not professionally trained, they bring their own collection of music. They go to considerable expense to renew their collections, in transportation to and from the station, etc. None of this is reimbursed. Their only compensation is love of what they do and appreciation of their listeners.
My husband when he died was host of a bluegrass/country music show and also president of the Board.
I will be here (by myself??) throughout the evening with some music and maybe a bit of chat.
Here locally it is traditional to play Ault Lang Syne close to midnight. But now on this thread I think I will start the evening with this lovely instrumental version of it

We will be in and out throughout the evening but going into Bridge of Allan later where you get the best view of the fireworks at midnight over Stirling Castle.
This was 2014 event. It is rather mild and staying dry so taking my tripod and camera with me.
A HAPPY 2015 to all when it comes around.
Hi Keith & Diane
A lovely picture, Keith, and looking forward in the coming days to some from tonight. Know you and Susan will enjoy the celebration.

Auld Lang Syne with original Scottish (or so they claim - Would Robert Burns agree?) and English translation.
Happy New Year to all past and present gabbers.
I'm remembering at this moment that the Bar Alba will have an empty chair tonight. Sunshine - missed always.
Mulberry You are just in line with the post I was preparing to type, even as you entered.
SHOULD AULD ACQUAINTENANCE BE FORGOT, indeed? Mulberry. You are among the many "Auld Acquaintance" Gabbers that I miss and am glad to see you here tonight.
SUNSHINE of course is one of the first "brought to mind". He responded within minutes when the first Gabfest was opened, he was always with us for special occasions as well as every day so long as he was able. I will always miss him and remember him fondly on this special time of Auld Lang Syne.
Was the Bar Alba one of his favorite hangouts..
Another Auld Acquaintance to be brought to mind is Black Jaguar (Jag). With his easy-going personality and lovely smile to match, with his poetry and talented photography he certainly is not to be forgot.
Jag and his good friend Snow Leopard are probably out somewhere celebrating the coming new year and having a great time. HAPPY NEW YEAR, JAG AND SNOW.
