Tis the season to be merry . . .
Did you hear about the Primary School Nativity Play? Two children are dressed as Mary and Joseph, and they are on their way to the inn in Bethlehem.Meanwhile on the other side of the stage, a lad in a shepherd's outfit is on a mobile phone, calling to make a reservation.
Margo, I hope Rhys was able to act his part in the Nativity play without falling asleep. How lovely to go to Lapland to see Father Christmas. Something he will always remember. I am sure he has told all the other children about the mice :-))
Linda, Glad your OH avoided an accident in the car. I did comment to my OH, only yesterday, that the Christmas spirit seems to be creeping into some of the mad drivers on the road. I had stopped at temporary traffic lights, which were on red, when this fellow shot past me and then came to a grinding halt as he met a large truck coming from the opposite direction. Needless to say there was an argument and the car had to eventually reverse back to where I was parked. The lights had changed a few times while all this took place !!! Fine, if these people want to kill themselves, but..........
I must hurry as I need to leave earlier than usual for helping Dau day. 2 books I ordered have arrived at local library and I am to collect special teething gel from Childrens Hosp. Twins not teething yet but Dau wants to be prepared. Special stuff only available at CH pharmacy. Why can’t regular pharmacies stock it? Silly question - Life ain't meant to be easier as we get older.
Tis the season to be merry . . .It was coming up to Christmas and the Judge was in a jolly frame of mind."Now then, please tell me, what is the charge against you?""I was caught doing my Christmas shopping very early," replied the man in the dock."That doesn't seem like an offence to me. What do you mean by 'very early'?""Well, your Honour." said the defendant, "It was before the shop was open."
working extra this week. The manager is on paternity leave and we are prepping for the sale, so needs must.
Good Morning, All.
dibnlib: Don't work too hard, and get too tired to enjoy your festive break!
Brenda: I dont know what it is with people at this time of year, maybe their minds are elsewhere. I saw at least two pedestrians just step off the pavement without looking, goodness knows what might have happened.
AQ: We are so sorry to hear about the dramatic events in Sydney these last two days. My mind and thoughts will be with the brave victim's families today, its so sad to think that just one individual can cause such misery.
On a more cheerful note, there is a New Blog from Jen on the Osprey Blog page, with lovely snowy pictures....
I am off out to try for about the fourth time to get my photos put on a disc, so that I can distribute them through the family and also put some of them on here. Our local Boots branch has been hopeless: they have brand new processing machines in the photo area but they are playing up and no one seems to know when it will be fixed. This means I have to travel to another town to get it done, but at least I can do a little Christmas shopping at the same time.
Have a good day, Everyone!
ps We got the lights on our tree yesterday, so thats progress! Will have to try & find all the ornaments now, they are buried in the understairs cupboard along with all the usual Christmas bunting & frolics.
The Tree
We fought the lights upon the tree:It looks not bad, at least, to me.Every year it seems to get tallerAnd my short legs seem to get smaller....
When all the tinsel and the glittery ballsAre once again completely installedI expect that I will then be pleasedThat time to do it all was seized.
The lights will flash, in merry fashion -I've always loved Christmas, with a passion. The tree, in my eyes seems to symboliseAll the family love we feel inside.
When on The Day we sit down, tiredI know my glance will be inspiredTo enjoy the tree, and all its dramaA colourful, seasonal panorama!
(had not one word of that in my head at 8.49...... didnt even know how I was going to end it! But I'm quite happy with the result!)
Lindybird love your latest poem, really does sum things up.
I shan't even try to go back over the past four (I think) days! Currently waiting for it to be time to go for haircut - having it done a week early so it has settled when we go away for new year. Both back at dentist this morning: OH had his two fillings done and she wanted to see me to say that the X-ray did nothing to explain whatever is going on in my gum so she is referring me to the hospital (waiting target is 8 weeks, but will probably be longer). The date for closure of our dental clinic has now been announced - April next year.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
