WEEKLY CHAT (non-osprey) SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2014

Hi all, welcome to the new week.

  • No probs, Ha. It has just taken 10 mins to post.

  • Evening all:

Lindybird: Good to read Matthew is doing better; do hope he'll be home soon.

Lynette:  I remember my mother chasing our budgie (Robbie) round the house when he got out; he used to sit on the curtain rod and poop down the curtains.  He was a real cutie actually.

AQ:  Hate to read that you and OH are getting worn out , but very smart to take the path of least resistance with Christmas.  Just clean the "public" bits of the house. I can write my name in the dust in our house, but am saving my energy; after all, no point in doing it now or I'll have to do it again.   Storms not an issue in our immediate area.

Diane:  I was drying off after a shower this evening and heard what seemed like a very long roll of thunder. Just read that they launched an Atlas V out of Vandenberg AFB, 60 miles away, this evening (a classified mission). I wish I'd known before the fact coz we can usually see the trails in the sky from here and it can be pretty thrilling.

    Have a good Saturday all.

  • Good morning all, just a quick post.  Lindybird so pleased Matthew is improving and hopefully he will be home soon. Must have been such a worrying time for you all.

Annette and diane pleased to read you are OK, saw pictures on news of the mudslides on the news, feel very sorry for those who have suffered damage.

    Have a good weekend all.

  • Good to read the positive news about baby Matthew, LINDY. I think I know which virus you are referring to but I can't spell it!

GEORGE do as you are told and get yourself some thermals!!

WENDY I bet you are getting a lot more white stuff. We woke up today to find everything white. Not very much though, maybe an inch.

ANNETTE Glad that you are not affected by the heavy rain. I heard about the mud slides on the radio. Apparently the farmers in the (central valley?) are still under water restrictions.

AQ I'm assuming that J is having medication for the reflux. It sounds a very severe case and I'm so glad that she will be seen by the paeds before Christmas. Regarding dust - I'm famous within the family for saying that Christmas will still happen even if the skirting boards are dusty. Eldest daughter uses it as a mantra.

Take care all, sorry to any I've missed, DIANE,BRENDA,LYNETTE,OG.

  • Heather yes more white stuff that fell on solid ice... so all a bit dangerous.

OH has done some investigation work only to find our road was adopted October last year. Never see a whiff of a council gritter. He will be on their case on Monday.

No Daisy walk today as I value my hips!!!

    Stay safe all:-)

  • Good Morning Everyone. We had a cloudy night here, so no frost

We have been looking at plans, which have been submitted, for 5 houses to be built on the garden next to us !!!! The original bungalow is to be demolished.

  • It must be a very large garden, BRENDA. I can guess how you might be feeling.

  • Sorry no post from me today - been putting up the Christmas trees (ours and J's) and other decorations.  Will look at posts tomorrow.

Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!

  • Evening, all.  Our teenager has the X Factor final on and I've just seen a half-naked Chico on the stage!  Woo Hoo!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
