Hi all, welcome to the new week.
Lindybird thanks for the news that Matthew is a little better, hope the recovery will continue And he will soon be home again.
Hello. Good to see posts from Wendy: I hope OH is making good progress – pleased he is behaving himself re lifting etc!
Brenda – men got home safe at exactly 9pm with no problems, but we do have ice warnings for the morning – gritters are out tonight, and it is dry. Sorry they can’t get your OH’s glasses for Christmas and give you a break from driving!
Heather – I hope your phonecalls sorted all the family!
Linda – thanks for sharing fuller info re baby Matthew – poor wee boy! I am glad your Son can be off work and at the hospital with his Wife, and that Tomas was able to see her. He must be confused, but it is good that he has you and OH with him at home. I hope you will continue to sleep well there – the stress must be very tiring, as well as looking after an active four-year-old! Look after each other, too!
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Thanks for all your news and especially the news that Matthew is making progress and Tomasz was able to see mummy.
An update on Harriet and Ozzie. Harriet sitting then night cam comes on and she gets up and has a snack whilst in the meantime Ozzie comes in and takes his turn at sitting.
Weather forecast for overnight looks as though it may be a bit windy here with rain coming over from the south west then possibly a brighter day. Started off here quite wet but cleared and a reasonable afternoon. Not a big swim today as only managed one day this week and for the next 3 weeks due to various things happening. Hope to get back into routine after Christmas and New Year.

Evening all: Storm a couple of hours away though the Northern part of the state has been clobbered.
Lindybird: Your family's lucky you and OH are so ready to jump in and help out when needed - and it's good for Tomasz to have familiar and comforting faces when his routine is upset. Did they manage to give a more specific diagnosis for Matthew?
Margo: Rest up with the chemo so you can enjoy all those Christmas treats.
Lynette: Nice pix from Florida.
OG: Sounds like you had a nice day to yourself.
Heather: Please wish your OH happy birthday on Sunday. Hope the family diplomacy worked!
Rita: What was the diagnosis on your shoulder?
LizLFW: The message I got was along the lines of not being permitted (or something like that) to access the page.
Wendyb: Can you get a small tree so your OH won't have to move any heavy furniture? Are you the one shoveling snow? Hope the singing-and-dancing tractor finds someone who knows the steps to get moving. :-)
Hi to anyone I missed - and take care all.
Good Morning Everyone. Rather a noisy night here, because of the gales and heavy rain. Lighter rain at the moment and the winds have eased to normal.
Annette, I have been reading about your bad storms. I hope you don't get it as bad as has been reported. Stay safe.
Linda, I hope you receive better news about Matthew, today. Pleased to read that you are managing to sleep. X
OG, I hope the gritters kept your roads safe this morning. I see that you could have had some snow. Enjoy your lunch out today.
Annette: NPR (National Public Radio) just said that Santa Barbara will be hit hard by that storm, and there's a preliminary evacuation in parts of Los Angeles. I hope you will be okay and sustain no damage (mudslides, power outages, etc.). Stay safe. I also hope your daughter's car issues are being resolved.
Lindy: Best wishes to Matthew for a quick and complete recovery.
Hope all of you in U.K. are safe from the bad weather.
Good afternoon all winter has really come this week as we have had snow rain sleet and really high winds. When walking Diesel I have gone out when the sun was shining and come back cold and wet as I only get half way when it starts to either snow or rain. On Monday I decided I needed a much warmer coat to take Diesel out so went and purchased a duck down padded coat from Tresspas and now my legs get cold but the rest of me is toasty.
Have now got all my CHR*** cards and calenders posted so I can now relax. Have an appointment to see the Heart Consultant this afternoon for my annual checkup so Diesel will just have to have a run about in the back garden which will not please him. Hope young Matthew continues to improve and manages to get home so that the family can enjoy Christmas.
Hope everyone keeps well

Hi Diane, You don't mention how you are ? Are you working on a project or your winter cleaning. ( maybe both :-)) ). I thought I saw that you were getting more snow. I have been watching that storm and it does look as if Annette could be under it's path. As I said this morning, I do hope you will be OK Annette and that you both stay safe.
George, So glad you have posted, so that we know you got through the storm and are fine. Sorry that your legs are now so cold. Maybe you should wear some long thermals, as worn by the skiers / snowboarders. I hope all goes well with the Heart Consultant.
Supposed to be dry here now, but it is raining.
Hi, Brenda. No snow here, but there's a big storm causing lots of snow/rain in the east. Very foggy on my patch this morning. I hope your gales didn't do any damage. I'm glad that you, Rita, Liz, OG and all are okay.
I'm trying to scare up a freelance project to work on over the holidays, so I've been writing emails and other tasks today. I don't have any plans, so I'd like to work and earn some money to keep body and soul together. I'll resume with cleaning and spider web removal this weekend. :-)
I've been keeping an eye or ear on the news to find out whether the federal government will shut down -- again.
I saw the white-tailed doe deer yesterday. She seems to be staying in the wooded area behind my garage this winter. She's very beautiful.
Take care, all.
Margo: I hope chemo is going okay.
Morning all: Two-and-a-half lovely inches of rain in the last 12 hours!
Diane/Brenda: Storm not that bad right here in town, though we did get gusts of up to 60mph. They caught the brunt of it north of Point Conception. My daughter called me at 9:30 and said the power there had been out for an hour and when I got on the Fire Department's Twitter feed it was reporting power lines down all around Lompoc and the Santa Ynez Valley. Some of the coastal foothill areas across the state have had slides. I did look out around 10 p.m. and saw the cushions on my glider on the front porch were blowing around the garden, so rescued them.
Diane: Just saw your post. Fingers crossed you get a nice fat freelance assignment that you can whip out easily.
George: Sounds like you now need some nice fleece-lined pants or maybe thermal underwear for those walks. Hope the heart doc doesn't have to see you for another year.
Lindybird: Let us know how Matthew is doing when you get the chance.
