Dang! Started a thread but it never loaded and now it's eaten my entire post! Grrrrr. What's worse, I typed it in Word, copied and pasted it, and now can't get it to paste.
Hope we don't get two new threads.
Anyway, have a nice Sunday everyone. Will catch up (again!) tomorrow.
BRENDA It is more than likely that P and your daughter have crossed paths. All I can/will say is that he works in A and E!!
Hope everyone has had a good day.
Things I forgot to say before:
On Friday, I noticed how good the landscape is looking with our "winter gold" - Gorse along the road verges and field hedges.
Yesterday, after visiting the nuclear waste exhibition, we went to the coffee shop at our newly revived Annandale Distillery. Too late for the tour, but OH might want to do it some time. http://www.annandaledistillery.co.uk/
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Heather, I agree entirely with you.I wouldn't expect you to say anymore about your friend. It was meant just as a remark.
It has been quiet on here today. We did some gardening, not the hedge, otherwise we just spent the day filing / shredding papers and catching up with correspondence. The paper pile on OH's desk was beginning to get too high. I also have been looking on the internet, looking for Christmas present ideas.
Linda – I hope the day went really well for you, with no hold-ups on the roads. That Squirrel doesn’t exactly look hungry, but that is a weird expression on its face!
Heather – I hope you will begin to feel Christmassy soon; maybe it is partly due to only just returning from two weeks away! I am sure Callum will be pleased to fetch the decorations down from the loft: will he and Amy also help decorate the house? How nice to hear from an old friend, with news of another, and to look forward to meeting up.
Clare – thanks for the good wishes. We were certainly blessed with lovely weather for St Andrews Day, and we have had a really good weekend. I believe your day started with some rain, according to the forecast, so I hope you got sunshine later.
Brenda – I am sure it is possible your mutually grooming Squirrels could be a couple, but I wonder whether they were young siblings from a 2014 nest.
We enjoyed Moffat Christmas Festival; ideal weather for it as most of the stalls and the Funfair are on the High Street (it is a double street, so one half gets closed for events), although there are also craft stalls inside the Town Hall. We were very restrained with eats (Brenda take note!) as we shared most things between the two of us. There was a really good atmosphere and it was very busy there. We saw Santa arrive, drawn by a lovely little pony, followed by another pony bringing some of his Little Helpers. We stayed longer than intended and did some useful shopping in a really good delicatessen; OH didn’t realise that was where I intended to go, and we can’t work out how I have shopped there before and he hasn’t! We also visited a pleasant little coffee shop and the Moffat Toffee Shop and admired some well-dressed windows. Unfortunately, I could hardly walk when we got home – not sure how I ever got from the car to the door – and we are due at the dentist tomorrow morning; I hope a hot water bottle tonight might sort me out.
BRENDA - you posted while I was typing. I am sure the hedge would have been too much after yesterday, so was pleased to see you have been doing less demanding jobs. Your remark made me glance at my paper pile - help!
OG, I love to see the gorse in flower, especially at this time of the year. There always seems to be one species or another in flower, throughout the year. We saw quite a lot of it when on our way to East Grinstead.
EDIT. We cross posted. I would help with your paper pile, but I do feel I have seen enough paper for one day LOL
Busy day, but the big excitement was that I had to wear my raincoat when I whizzed off to the store this morning! It was just a little rainfall, but we're expecting a really big storm on Tuesday. As my grandson would say, "I'm stoked!" :-)
Will catch up tomorrow.
Good morning, all. I'm probably tempting fate but I'm going to say that I really hope the planned work on the Community today has a positive effect!!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
Doesn't the year fly by. Benson was treated to his advent calender treat this morning. I must be nuts.
LINDY glad you had a good time, look forward to seeing the pics.
