Hallo all.
Good afternoon all I am still here and today is probably the best day we have had for over a week as it has been rather wet walks we have been on. Today it is cold but the sun is shinning which makes you feel a little better. I have been having a lot of trouble with I/E and have now changed over to Google which seems to be working OK
I am also trying to get to grips with my new Ipad which is very different from my desktop.
I have now ordered all my CH*** presents so will now have to get down to writing my cards.
Hope everyone is keeping well but as the last formula 1 race is about to start will have to sit down and watch it.

Hallo all:
Diane: Oh good; hadn't heard much about your critters so nice to know they're hovering nearby to keep an eye on you.
AQ: Gorgeous, gorgeous babies!!! The Pinjarra church looks cozy; fascinating about those silos; near the ocean but where were the wheatfields and where is it grown now? When I was on the train back from Chicago, came through the Midwest where silos are still silos; can't see a development/population surge there that would result in such a conversion, but what a good idea. Like the sound of forest fruit muffins.
OG: Better after hot milk, ibuprofen, and a good night's sleep. Not much on the agenda today in terms of digging holes to OZ. My granddaughter hated fish but now is a convert. How far is Dumfries from you?
GEORGE: Glad you're "still here." I switched to Google Chrome after problems with IE. That's a leap from desktop to iPad (I have only a laptop, but OH is about to buy himself a new desktop and a laptop - no iPads here yet though).
Off to see what the day brings. The first thing I see is a jet of water in the garden; looks like one of the sprinklers has decided to run amok!! Must zoom out to fix.
Take care all

Limpy: Fancy seeing you here! Happy about the results, I take it? :-)
Limpy, I am very happy too, it was the right result !
AQ Lovely picture of the happy twins!
On Strictly the top dancers are really very good, an enjoyable program.
Now going to try the new TV ghost story, ......!
Good morning. If I am joining in today, it has to be morning – we shall go offline at lunchtime for engineer coming to make our faster broadband connection. We assume it will happen smoothly and we shall be back very soon – if not, I guess we could be AWL for a while!
George – good to see your post yesterday. We too had morning sunshine, but when I said at lunchtime I would go for a little walk, it poured with rain – we did have further sun, but the moment had gone! No idea yet what it looks like today – blind still drawn. Good luck with the browser problem and getting used to the I-pad; I like the Surface, as a laptop or tablet, but still prefer to sit at my desk and use the PC. I hope the F1 result was right for you!
Annette – good to see you were feeling better – but it seemed a bit early to start “zooming” out to fix the sprinkler. Dumfries is about 17 miles in one direction, and it’s the same distance to Carlisle (over the border) the other way, so we have a choice: Carlisle is a city, so has more big stores in the centre, but we tend to use Dumfries more often because it is in Scotland, and is our County Town.
Limpy – long time, no see! I hope you are as well as possible and still enjoying Minsmere!
Chrisy – good to see you too. Strictly does have some really good contestants this year, but I thought that Steve and Ola gave the more improved performance in the dance-off this weekend.
OH has made porridge, so breakfast calls! I may look in again later.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good Morning Everyone. Lovely to see the sun shining on a cold and frosty morning. It rained all day yesterday.
AQ, Thanks for your photograph of the adorable angels at their Christening. They may be a 'handful' but your daughter must be so proud to have such gorgeous children, and that includes, LM. I have yet to catch up on your latest holiday photographs.
Annette, Yes, my OH is very impatient to start driving again. He misses not being able to jump in the car and just 'go', instead of having to rely on me to take him, although he knows I don't mind.So good to see that you have recovered from your exertions 'down under'. I hate digging too far down in our garden as we have clay here. Are you seeing your daughter for Thanksgiving ?
George, You will find your iPad strange to use at first and using Safari, but I wouldn't change now. I also have a MacBook Pro, which took me a while to adjust to, but now have difficulty remembering how to use the old desktop.
OG, I hope all goes well with your new faster broadband connection. I presume you will be getting 'infinity' now.Agree with you and Chrisy about Strictly. They do have some really good contestants this year. I don't think that Steve and Ola were helped by Steve's reported remarks, on line, that Ola bullied him. She was then defended by previous partners and her OH. I do think he was due to be voted off shortly , though.
Heather, I hope you have emerged from all the holiday laundry now.
Linda will feel the drop in temperature when she returns home.
I will be out, as usual, this afternoon.
Good afternoon I was very pleased with the outcome of the F1 result and the the pictures of him with his family after the race shows just how much his family means to him. He has had a very up and down season but he has come up trumps.
It was cold out this morning but as it is only a week till December what can you expect and you can always put on another layer to keep warm. The British always keep on about the weather but we don't seem to get the extremes that other countries do.
AQ the developers here would have a field day with all the old churches that you have been showing us as all the old churches here seem to be turned into flats
I will have to be getting in touch with the dog groomer as Diesel's paws are like powder puffs again and with everything being so wet underfoot trying to keep the floor clean is a nightmare.
Hope everyone keeps well
Hi all. Hope all of you are well.
AQ - what delightful twins, so pleased they behaved themselves.
Well, we had a fantastic day yesterday. Atrocious weather but got down to the hotel (where we were having lunch) in plenty of time. Very nice lunch and then went on to 'The Harry Potter Studio Tour' at Leavesden. It is well worth a visit. It was Dau's second visit and my first and I was very impressed with the way it is laid out. What a lot of work went on in the background, animatronics, visual effects, sound effects, and loads of other things. The grand hall was very impressive as was the 1/8th scale model of Hogwarts (complete with wintry scene for Christmas period). Posting just a few pics of which I took plenty.
just a small part of Hogwarts
Dumbledores office
some of the many gnome faces
part of the great hall - it was set out for a feast, all food was now in resin but originally it was done by food technichans and was the real thing. Studio lights was the downfall of the real food as it kept wilting.
last one - cupboard under the stairs where HP practised his magic.

Still waiting! Getting annoyed - well, actually very annoyed! Swearywords required for how we really feel!
