Amused to see that Helena is on the Ghana - Volta region. I did some hiking there back in 2005, and it is a splendid rugged area, with dense forest and few trails, quite mountainous and beautiful. This is what Helena will be seeing:

Good luck indeed, it is quite a flight even in a modern airplane, the Sahara goes on and on and on, so to do it on wingpower alone is really quite incredible.
