Hey everyone.
LINDYBIRD has posted some pix of Matthew of the masses of black hair on the last page of last week's thread. What makes me think we'll be seeing more soon? :-)
DIBNLIB: Glad you had a nice walk with "new" companions.
Had nice light brunch with friends; then to the gym. Now home to throw some chicken and asparagus in the pans! Hope all are well.
Rich text format option seems to have gone AWOL
Lindy: Matthew is beautiful!
Annette: I haven't been able to use rich text formatting for weeks. I assumed it was my system.
Thanks for starting us off Annette.
I have been & I am using rich text formatting, tho' it has been horribly slow last few weeks. I get dizzy watching the whirligig LOL
Thanks ANNETTE for starting us off again. I hope you and friends can get back to more frequent brunch gatherings.
I have been absent a few days, just tied up with mostly mundane stuff. I have been reading, but can't remember much, other than those beautiful baby photos of little Matthew from LINDA. I am sure LINDA and OH are having a lovely visit to Amber, and hope we shall see more pictures after the weekend.
Weather here seems reasonable right now, but it is so changeable. We changed to our medium weight duvet on Friday, and the nights went warmer, but looks like we might benefit from it tonight. We have never yet used the light and medium together to make the true winter-weight one!
Have a good week, everyone.
Ospreys Rule OK, but Goldfinches come a close second!
Good morning, all! It's a wet start to the day here, though it's supposed to start drying up later this morning. Our friendly neighbourhood sparrowhawk has just paid us a visit and has departed with a breakfast of one unlucky starling. I'm just relieved it decided to eat it out of my sight!! Limpy headed to Minsmere very early this morning in the hope of getting some otter shots. Fingers crossed!
Our herring gulls are red listed birds. Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.
By the way, Lindy, love the gorgeous photos of Matthew on the previous thread!
CLARE - while eating my porridge this morning, I was sad to see Killer Cat come out from under our Japanese Anemones licking his lips! We leave some growth on our perennials as shelter for the Dunnocks, Wren etc, but apparently we have been providing cover for an ambush! We have seen one of the Dunnocks since chasing said moggy away.
We've actually got no bushes at all in our back garden - I suspect the two (beautiful) cats next door would have a field day if we did! The sparrowhawk likes to lurk in the woodland at our back gate - the first we usually see of it is the brown blur which suddenly appears in the garden.
Good evening trying out a cheap tablet I bought while waiting on the new Ipad coming that I have to give myself as a Chr**** present. The wine tasting was avery enjoyable night with a taste of two whites one rosy and three reds with a buffet between the whites and the reds. The wines were mostly European with one Australian. Hope everyone manages to keep dry as the forecast isn,t very good

Good Morning Everyone. We had thunderstorms overnight and more forecast for this morning.
Thanks for starting the week. Annette, I didn't manage to get on here yesterday. Like you say, nothing exceptional to mention, just the normal mundane events of life, but they seem to consume the day.
Lovely photographs of Matthew, Linda. It is easy to forget, just how small they are at that age, especially shown in the photograph with your husband holding Matthew.
Clare, Your sparrow hawk seems to be getting well fed in your garden.
George, Enjoy your iPad, when it arrives. I love mine. So glad you enjoyed your wine tasting evening. Did you buy any of the wine ?
I need to go and buy a birthday present this morning and then bowls this afternoon. I am also checking on a neighbours dog, while she attends a rose course at Sissinghurst.
Hello Everyone - Very quiet on here the last couple of days. Beautiful cloudless blue skies yesterday but very cold. Saturday was just as sunny but a lot warmer, it was my birthday so I went out most of the day - had a lovely beach walk with Amber and lunch at the beach cafe sitting outside in the sunshine! then on to Cromarty for another walk, visited a Cheese shop run by a Dutch couple and bought some cheeses to try, then called in to a favourite little shop of mine to have a cup of tea and browse through the second hand books, and bought three. Went home to make a birthday meal and watch 'Strictly' only to find that I had no Sherry or Wine! (thought I had both). However, I made up for it last night !
Hope all are well and enjoyed the week-end,
