NOVEMBER – Winter is setting in. With return to Standard Time the dark evenings are even longer. It will soon be dark by 6:00 p.m. here in southern Ohio. Many of our November days are just all-over grey, from grey skies to gray hills with leafless grey trees and grey atmosphere – just cold, damp and gloomy. Still too early to expect much, if any, snow. But on an occasional sunny day we might enjoy a heavy frost on lingering green leaves. And inside all is warm, colorful and cheery. All month (in my family, anyway) we are planning the Thanksgiving feast. Thanksgiving Day, a day set aside for giving thanks to God for all the blessings in our lives, is a national holiday and a major one for most of us.
Here at the Gabfest, we have the gloom of empty nests. But we also have the cheer of knowing that Millicent is settled in her warm winter home, while Breagha is enjoying his second winter not too far away. Our chat-room fires are kept burning brightly and our new TV/telly screen is always at the ready., so hopefully we can all keep our computers in working order and enjoy a little chit-chat, some music and maybe a bit of streetwalking. Special Events include the possibility of another Music Night with suggested Movie theme and a group streetwalk to some as yet mystery location.
So where is our Gabfest chat-room.? Have you ever wondered? Well of course, it is at some undisclosed cyberspace location in the beautiful Scottish Highlands, not too far from the Loch Garten nest, home of EJ and Odin.
For reasons I have not been able to post on here for a a while but have been keeping up to date.
Yesterday I was travelling all day and also unable to give greetings to our friends in USA.
As it is Holiday Weekend during the Thanksgiving Holiday may I wish all our friends in USA and anywhere else they celebrate this holiday.
Click the picture postcard for a Thanksgiving Prayer.

AMAZING - Puffer Fish Art Work
Very Early FROGSPAWN
Even Pinella wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving
I dont think they would like to see a bird about to be eaten - A FISH - YES
(c) - Many Thanks to Dunedin Osprey Cam for Picture and Caption and to Penny for the comment about the bird to be eaten.
Pinella has been on the nest at Dunedin - Clearwater - FL - quite a bit the last few days and now waiting for Stirling to start his housework but not ready yet to get into pairing mode - very similar patern to last season. Stirling is around the area but yet not into his domestic duties.
KEITH, what a joy to come to my computer this morning and find your posts. I thought we had lost your interest forever. You have been sadly missed, my friend.
Keith, One of the things I particularly missed was your connection with the Dunedin Florida nest, which I am lacking at present. Even as I was replying to your early posts, You were bringing us up to date on the latest activities there. I hope to read more such in the weeks to come.
The middle feeder at Ithica has been turned into a man sporting a hat and suit. :) They do have their fun, don't they?
Sunlight and shadow makes for a very different scene at Little House feeders in Prairie Village, Kansas USA this a.m. I know it is your PM But definitely morning in Kansas and yes, we are in Kansas! (Dorothy in Land of OZ "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto") It is 10 am in Ohio and 9 am in Kansas.
Besides the temporary change of lighting the owners have added a twin feeder.
Good afternoon all. Keith good to see your posts here again and the thanksgiving prayer. Love the ospreys dinner! June hope you had a good thanksgiving day.
I did see the puffer fish and his beautiful artwork moved me nearly to tears! Dont we live in a wonderful world and so much we are still discovering! We as humans destroy this at our very great peril. Have missed the series but that episode and will ask Santa for Christmas for the DVD!
That looks like a cold thin sunshine same as we have here today. At least its not raining! Beautiful day here today and mild for end of November!
Will start my Christmas cake soon time is getting on now and not long now till March!
