WEEKLY CHAT (Non-Osprey topics) Sunday October 26, 2014

Hope you all enjoyed your extra hour in bed!

  • Hi ANNETTE, don't think too hard, it is dangerous.

MARGO - Great news, I was thinking about you and wondering how things would be. Fantastic. Now get stirring that cake!

A domestic day here, OH walked to town, saw nobody that he knows which is quite unusual. He bought more strawberries for his breakfast, still buying UK ones, surely they will finish soon? I have made a meatloaf which is in the oven and the onion gravy is plopping away. OG - I did use a strong cheddar on my minestrone. I like the sound of your Winchester cheese. I saw in the Inverness Courier today that the Dairy at Daviot had won an award for their icecream. We have never been there.

  • CONGRATULATIONS to the grandparents and also, of course , to the parents. So glad to hear that baby and Mum are fine. Thanks for the wonderful news, Linda.

  • Lindy -  How wonderful,  Congratulations  to you and all the family on the birth of another Grandson,  glad to hear  that all is well with them. I like his name very much.  How lucky that D-in-L s Mother arrived just in time.

  • Margo - so glad that you have had good results again and that it is making you feel happier.    I can understand that Billie is probably happy as an only cat, and would not like sharing you with another feline.  My first cat was very jealous when I got my second cat , and was quite nasty to him even though he was a tiny kitten.   It took 7 months before she suddenly decided to play with him one day.  After that, they were great friends and played together all the time and slept together with their paws around each other!

AQ - I am so enjoying your holiday pictures, lovely churches and all so different, and I like the sound of the Banksia Farm.

Annette -  I am also enjoying your holiday pics,  my eldest son and family were in New York in August and  also visited the 9/11 Memorial  and found it very moving.   What a lovely holiday home, it looks very peaceful there, a contrast from the city.

  • Heather, Sorry that your leak doesn't appear to have been completely repaired. Hope the man returns quickly.

Rita, What a pain, losing a long post. I do try to remember to copy my posts before I use RF or posting. I presume you now have new windows, without any plant damage.

Margo and I enjoyed a long phone call, until Billie wanted his fish dinner, LOL Such brilliant results for her.

  • Brenda - Yes, I have new window glass fitted now, it is nice to look through really clear glass once again.  the fitters were very careful of my plants and nothing has been damaged thank goodness! they both happen to be very keen gardeners.

BABY ANNOUNCEMENT!!! Our new Grandson was born this morning, just after 9.30am, after a short labour. He is called MATTHEW TADEUSZ and was 7 lb 3oz. Mum & baby doing well. We are beyond excited!!

Woo Hoo!  Great to know your excellent genes have a new carrier - let's hope he gets your brilliant sense of humour as well.  Many congratulations from us all!

Our herring gulls are red listed birds.  Think about that the next time you hear some flaming idiot calling for a cull of them.

  • Margo- what wonderful news!!!

  • Many many Thanks to you All, for all your kind congratulations. These grandchildren mean a lot to us, as other members of our family have grandchildren, but for a while we thought that sadly, we might not. They are all going to be very much loved by us and by both sides of our respective families. As you can imagine, I have spent the afternoon ringing people and emailing all & sundry! Our Son has rung to say that they are all back home now, already, which I find amazing as in my day we were forced to have a week in hospital! How things have changed! My OH & I are off to visit them all tomorrow, laden down with flowers, presents and of course, cake!!
  • Bjane - How good to hear from you. I hope that all is well with you.
